Why do my fps decrease when I overclock from 3.2GHz to 3.4GHz?

Are you simply raising the FSB? If so, check your memory timings between the two speeds using CPUz.

Otherwise, it's possible that thermal throttling is kicking in at the higher speed.

Just noticed as well that the video memory is pegged at 100% in the faster one, so perhaps some texture paging is going on (swapping to system memory), which will definitely slow things down.

...don't know why raising the CPU speed would cause that to happen.
