hey guys i have one 7970 that has a faulty temp sensor, and because the fan is set to auto by default the fan blasts to 100% due to no temp reading being provided to it so it makes great noise on every startup and i have to put up with that noise for a couple of minutes before i can load up my sapphire trixx quite fan profile

so can someone default the fan for me to 30% instead of auto to avoid this issue ?

i always have run this card on fixed fan speeds for months and i'm aware of what i'm asking for

if someone out there can hex edit the bios that i will attach here i will be very thankful :respect:

thanks !

I saw you ask darkhmz regarding this...

can you post what kind of card you have at the moment?

and also try to use MSI afterburner instead... i found it trixx to load slower during startup than afterburner...

it's a reference 7970 GHz edition engineering sample ....

only trixx can control it's voltage , msi afterburner just doesn't allow me to change it's voltage ...

i got an idea, what if i cut the wire of the 4th pwm pin in the fan ? that way i can cut the link that gives the fan the order to blast 100% on every startup, no ?!

You could use MSI's Afterburner or Sapphire Trixx to control de fan manually.

If you want the fan to run at a constant %100, that would work. You could always wire the fan into a fan controller too.

best way to go OR buy an aftermarket cooler With fan control

buying an after market cooler for it with the new generation of gpus coming out soon doesn't make that much sense , maybe i will sell it as it is for a discounted price to someone willing to deal with the 100% fan start up and get my self a new 280x instead .... ? would cost about the same as getting an 85$ cooler for it ( local prices )
