Why don't you downclock the 8600GTS to get 8600GT scores? You can also use Rivatuner to lock parts of the core off on the 7900GT to get 7900GS scores, you could do the same with the 7800GTX to get 7800GT scores if you still have the cards.

Also, I think I can get my hands on an x1650XT, I have to talk to my friend and see if he still has it. I'll let you know.

that's a nice idea for 8600GTS , are you sure the scores will be identical to having 8600gt ?

I dont have any other cards, as i send them back . 7900GT didn't work, 3d is busted on that card.

1650XT would be real nice .

Got my card back today!

Nice packing job! I thought I has won a new subwoofer or something...;)

Hope it worked out alright.

If anyone has any concerns, please put them to rest. This was easier than working with NewEgg!

the 7900GS was one of the final 7900 cards, and performs better than all 7900 cards except for the 7900GTX and GX2. Think of it like the 8800GTS to the GTX, although the GTX was almost on par with the GTS.

Kinda late, but equally clocked 8600gts's and 8600gt's will not perform on par from what I remember. (Someone recorrect me on this if I am wrong, it was a while when someone said it, may of misinterpreted it, lol) The 8600gt's memory timings are tighter than the 8600gts, even though they are the same GDDR3. So, a 8600gt clocked at 8600gts speeds will win out in a 3dtest, because of the tighter memory timings. (It isn't staggering, but there is still a small difference in the 3dmark scores.)

Also, I have a passively cooled geforce 6600 (128mb if I can remember) if you want to test out. :)
