Can we have just tech related adverts?

okay, I appreciate the need for adverts, this site needs to pay for itself, but like it is for the news, can it just be relevant adds? Like only tech, gaming and computing stuff. Adverts like this really get my goat on sites (and tbh make me think of site as a spamming/dodgy one)

What does everyone else think?

I have absolutely no problems with advertisements as long as they don't impact the use of the website in any way.

But still, just kinda annoying, though not as annoying as those vibrant ads that pop up as your mouse goes over them.

Can you add these threads onto the end of the what up with the ads thread?

It's not that TPU places those ads, it's some ad agency that does it. We'd love to have a Lian Li or Zotac or Sapphire or < insert company that likes to send TPU review samples here > ad but it's they have to pay for it, before which assess if it's worth putting up such a large ad. Hopefully TPU will convince them to buy ad space. We already have Zotac, OCZ doing so.

K, just didnt know if one of staff could tell add company to only put up Tech related ads, or at least not those ads, like you have a new message, or congrats you won a prize, or you are our 1millionth visitor, etc. i dont mind "normal" ads, like ads you see on the tv (the BA one I saw earlier for eg), but these are just plain annoying, and IMO give the wrong impression of TPU.
