can you get memory ic thermal pads?

A buddy of mine has taken apart his X1950XTX and has removed the thermal pads that tranfer the heat to the stock cooler. He has made a temporary repair to get it running, But he was wondering about replacements for the pads he has removed.

He and i both have spent some time reserching the purchase of those fibery little pads, all to no avail. If there is anyone who could provide a link, or even a replacent version, whithout haveing to purchase the whole cooler just to get the pads?

perforance-pcs.com has the pads and tape. either one will work. hell.... you can use regular thermal paste if needed

IDK, but the stock thermal pads on the X1950's might have some thickness to them. The thermal tape and pads I have seen on the market are paper thin and so don't even come close to filling the gap between a chip and it's cooler. I have order some replacement pads for my AC5 for my X850XT from the AC ebay store. hey

as5 can caus crashes if gotten onto pins or resisters

i got some on my ddr400 ram chip pins an it was not going any where

picked it out with an old tooth brush

Yes, you can. Their all terrible though. If you absolutely have to use thermal pads of any kind, use shin-etsu.
