Can't get windows 10 to boot

Can't get windows 10 to boot. I put the PC to sleep today before leaving for work and it didn't like it at all. No matter what I do. Can't get into windows. I can get into windows safe mode though.

Tried the following to no avail

- load bios defaults
- auto repair windows can't repair
- cold boot

Do you recall what updates you installed?

What version of 10 is it? Is it a developers/preview version?

Read your boards manual, get a bios update for it, check your bios settings, reset if necessary.

Bios is up to date. Windows 10 is os 14393.693
Ive managed to get into windows using the on board graphics instead of the Graphics card

So the Graphics card seems to be the problem.
I should mention that the Graphics card was working fine this morning before I put the computer to sleep.

The card is using a pci-e extender (thermaltake core p5 case)

I'll try the Graphics card in a mobo slot instead of the extender to find out if the extender somehow is the culprit

Might of not fully seated or got knocked loose, id run it on a bench and test. What is the make and model of gpu?

Safe mode uninstall the video drivers. Then try it

So I uninstalled the drivers. Rebooted and I could get into windows with the Graphics card. But not for long. Screen goes black after a while. I don't get enough time to install the drivers.

The time I can get with an image seems to be reduced everytime I retry

Mystified.

This morning no problems. Dumb me decided to use the sleep feature once in my life!

Yet the driver is completely uninstalled. But I can't get the frigging card to last more than 20 seconds in Windows lol

Windows will install the driver again, try installing a new downloaded driver in safe mode

Ok well I manage to have windows auto install the driver for the card.

Still no luck...

I'll try removing the extender and plugging directly into mobo and see what happens

And crap. Found the culprit. It's the pci-e extender.

I'll have to find one that works well
