I would guess this would be something Semi similar to FSB overclocking ,which is basically a last ditch effort when you have no other option left. Your best bet is to overclock the device you have plugged in to the PCI lane ,not the lane itself . if the only source is from that angry little munchkins website, then I don't have much faith in its benefits, never put much stock in anustechtips
The GPU in The PCI lane is already overclocked , but i'm buying a 750 ti soon and i think the lane itself will limit the performance , for now i have no problems with the geforce 210.

Overclocking the PCIe bus offers absolutely no advantage.
Unless it's limiting the GPU's performance ??!!

It's not , I ran benchmarks on my 1060 on PCIe 1.1 and the differences where within the margin of error. And to put things into perspective that's a card about 4-5 times faster.
But , i think your mobo has a PCI-E 2.0 , or maybe it was other mobo.

But , i think your mobo has a PCI-E 2.0 .

It's doesn't matter , if the PCIe bandwidth was to limit performance the effect would have been observable regardless.

A 1080 loses 3% of performance going from x16 1.1 to x16 3.0 , and that's a 1080 (literally an order of magnitude faster than a 750ti) we are talking about at 4K. Why are you so convinced PCIe speed limits your performance despite all evidence that points to the contrary is beyond me.

A C2D is a very weak CPU in this day and age , that's going to limit your performance long before anything else does.

PCI-E 1.0 throughput at x16 will not be a limiting factor, I would suggest that the GPU's 128 bit memory bus or your CPU may be more limiting in recent games.

I hope this isn't your primary or only PC, because if it is, it's definitely time for a replacement, rather than trying to squeeze a small boost which will be insignificant in the real world.

Investing in used system based on AMD Phenom II X4 965 or Intel i7 930 + new Arctic Freezer 13 Pro / R7 260X or GTX 750 Ti / 8 GB DDR2 / 550W 80 Plus PSU would be a good idea, because it will deliver twice the performance for a reasonable price.

I was gonna ask the same question. Curious what OC software op is using for pcie overclocking....

This is whats limiting your performance

I dont want to play GTA 5 and COD WW2 and Battlefield 1 and PUBG and Fortnite and Overwatch and the Witcher etc .......

anybody recommend a phenom or first gen Corei needs a cat scan and some medication . No just no

I would absolutely not go any older then a haswell based machine
they are supercheap from the usual suspects ebay/amazon/your re-seller of choice

Wich gen is the haswell???

Wich gen is the haswell???
Oh it's the 4th gen , the problem is my budget is very limited and i don't think i can afford a 4th gen CPU.

Depends on where you live I suppose. Haswell is a bit much still and don't offer that much more performance. Sandy/Ivy i3's are basically free though and is definitely the way i'd go if i were on a very tight budget.

Overclocking the PCIe bus offers absolutely no advantage.
You can then take screenshots with a larger number for PCIe frequency. That's an advantage right there.

Agree with this 100%, you can get a sandy bridge chip for probably $20-30 for an i3 or about $40-50 for an i5 and you could probably scrounge around and find a business who's getting rid of these machines and score for pretty darn cheap

Bad experience with these two? It's not that everybody can afford at least an i7 4790K, ideally i9 7940X or AMD TR 1950X, because anything less than that would be bad.
Phenom II X4's and first generation i7's are cheaper than Haswell i5's and especially Haswell i7's. The system I mentioned would be the starting point, below which I would not go. Even so, this "starting point PC" will offer relatively good performance for regular usage and some gaming on medium settings.

To be fair not even I would reccomend an AMD system from that time, unless basically free (for the entire system), and where I live Sandy/Ivy stuff is cheaper.

Heck, judging by what people were saying here with the X5680 and or W5680, you can get yourself a used workstation like a T3500 for dirt cheap, overclock that and you got yourself a beast of a machine.

I am thinking of picking one up for $160 CAD. It would do wonders for you over your current potato masher of a machine.

Can't overclock on those motherboards, and the motherboards that do support overclocking are quite expensive. And Ivy/Sandy systems are even cheaper.

That card doesn't push enough bandwidth to require resorting to overclocking the PCI-e bus.

Even if you did manage to OC it could make your pc very unstable

I don't get it, does everyone have loads of cash lying around to spend on (which I assume in this case) a hobby? If you can get cheap second hand parts then a Phenom II x4 or x6 & Intel's SB gen would be good replacements. The key being the condition of these components.

Also 27MaD you do realize how old your system is, what's the point of getting a decent GPU if you don't have the rest of the system up to snuff?

Yes i know that my mobo is 11 years old and my CPU is 9 years old but i don't have the money to upgrade to a new platform with core i series or ryzen , the 750 TI didn't produce much bottleneck as every one was saying and it's running awesome . everyone is telling me to upgrade my pc , they made me feel like i'm a
Billionaire but i'm in love with this pc and i will not upgrade it till i die .
And btw i'm now broke after buying the 60$ asus 750ti.
