The voting system really needs to change. No matter what we try, such as requiring a post if your vote is way off average, there are still those who click away and vote others down for no apparent reason. This does nothing but annoy those of us who work hard on our rigs and would like to know people's honest opinion of our work, and what we could change to improve it.

I propose 3 options:
Require a post in order to vote - This would make a forum post necessary in order to post a vote on someone's case. We already prevent unlogged in users from posting, and while this lessens the amount of fraudulent votes it does not prevent someone from simply registering and spamming 1's. This however makes the simple act of voting a time consuming process, in which some users may just decide to no longer vote.

Public voting - This would place your name, in some way, shape, or form, on your vote for others to see, and report is malicious. Spammers would be easily caught and dealt with by the forum community instead of requiring per basis attention of a moderator. This would be sort of a self-policing attitude. The downside of this is the person who does not like the case what so ever, and does not post explaining his attitude and reasoning.

Private voting Owner review - This would allow the owner of the case to view the names of those who voted, but not the general population. This way the owner could contact the malicious voter and straiten things out, without requiring a moderator to do so themselves. If a case owner and voter cannot straiten things out, a moderator will be called in to finalize the situation as they see fit. This is mostly a compromise between option 2 and the current system, in an effort to curb malicious voting.

I completely agree here...

However, I think the Owner review goes too far, but I agree there should be at least some sort of action taken to stop random voting of this nature. In my opinion, members of the forum should be required to post in order to vote that way he or she can justify their opinion/vote of the rig.

opt 2, IMO, would be the best course - especially for the long run. opt 1 is a little tedious, and I'd think opt 3 might end up with a lot of problems between two users who are stubborn, and not willing to see the other's point of view. opt 4 is obviously not working at this point . . .

option one is out....ur case gets a 3....vote and post...I have no shame in posting that, it only gives YOU someone to be pissed at. Same with option #2 I would still rate crap as crap and sweetness as 10's . Just because you think it's golden will still piss you off when someone with mad wiring skillz comes in and says MEH... could be better , have a 6.

You get my point. I think there really is no way to police this issue...If you've made enemies, they are gonna hate on your case mod. Along those lines is this also, just take the hitman this isnt a beauty contest where we get college shcolarships for points given by others.

IDK man seems like wasted time and resources to hose down a few ppls egos. The way I figure it , if TK gets no love on his threads gettin bad ratings....the cases should follow in suit! THEY ARE JUST PICTURES MAN!!!!!

Too much trouble is being made of the whole thing. If somebody votes a 'one'; Does it realy matter who or why. I vote the way I see fit; and, if I have some comment to add, I add it, and sometimes it's totaly unecessary to even say anything. What, the person who doesn't like "yellow" or "blue" can't vote the way he feels. It's not a contest, it realy has nothing to do with popularity. If Your case is "clean" and "sweet" and well built, than viewers are gonna ignore the low scores anyways. Likewise if sombody posts a POS and gets all high scores, people are just gonna laugh.

I think everyone should be able to vote from a 1 to a 10, whatever you think is your opinion. However, it would just be good for someone who voted a 1 would explain why (that way people can understand other people's criticism)... I explain my voting when I vote an 8, the least someone could do is tell us why they would vote 1.

and you would think that if somone is willing to throw out anything less than 5, especially a 1, then they would at least be able to state why they felt it should be rated so low, and offer some thoughts as constructive criticism.

If it would be possible, you could always try to set it up where a vote less than 5 requires a min 15 word post.

I think all posts should be constructive criticism in the case mod gallery, that would make it very simple.

I've been working to make it that way, but sometimes it's hard to know where to draw the line. Is it okay for someone to say "that computer is awesome" but not "that computer is bad"? Both give no reason for the opinion, so should one stay just because it's positive? It's hard for me to read everything in there, but I do try. It makes things easier if people use the "report post" button when they see a post they don't like.

Unless the vote is a 10 (aka perfect in every way) I want someone to explain why, and how I can make it better. If it is simple as they don't like my case, or the blue cathodes thats more then fine. I just want to know why.
