Sorry for being noobish but these drivers are 97 mb whereas the 9.12 hotfix are 127 mb. What components should i be uninstalling before reinstalling 10.3a?
Also... i backtracked to 9.12 because of the ULP state switching my 2nd card off while it was still cooling down (therefore leaving fan at higher settings). Is this an issue still or will i have to adjust the settings again in registry? (I think i tweaked a window ULP registry setting to '0').

Fortunately, I haven't noticed any flicker on secondary DVI...that's a big relief. Still an issue with windows spanned across all three monitors in an eyefinity group though.

10% bump in average fps with heaven (in the case of my OC'd card it went from 35.3fps to 38.7fps [1680x1050, 4xAA, 16xAF]), and the points of heavy tessellation have benefited the most, closing the gap on the fermi 'benchmark' by between 20-60% in the heavy areas. All that in one driver!

However, i've had no dirt 2 performance increase using the in game benchmark, but it's very obvious to see it's handling the crowds far better, plus it manages to stay above 60fps to stop double buffered vsync from screwing me over and going to 30fps. So the benchmark seemed to have lied somehow. I need to redo it at some point

Because it almost certainly was. AMD have probably been building up all these increases for a while to release in the 'killer driver' for the fermi reviews. 10.3 also has epic crossfire performance boosts afaik.

If you remember ages ago, some guy at ATi said they had something up their sleeves with regards to drivers, then fermi got delayed again, so the drivers turned out to be nothing special that month. These are those drivers. They just lulled nvidia into a false sense of security, nvidia were happy with a 5-15% boost over a hd5870, they finalize the design, then AMD go BAM! and take it away.

man it does fix the nwn issue i had with the 10.2's unfortunetely ill need to wait for finls. my AA options for some of my games just dissapeared and it makes the system BSOD or lock up. For me anyway.

I installed them on top of the 10.1 drivers. So far it works fine, and CCC lists it as 10.3.

I'm glad I chosed ATI over nVidia. I've been using nVidia since 64mb cards were out there. Once I heard that Fermi was delayed & delayed, I had no chose but to choose ATI. Glad I did!

I would install the official 10.3 drivers. They should be more refined (Tweaked). But you can always wait another month for the 10.4

According to [H], these are pretty much the same as the pending "official" WHQL ones that are expected in a week or so.

"The difference between the two is that Catalyst™ 10.3a Preview will contain future Eyefinty 6 updates and an Alien vs. Predator optimization which the Catalyst™ 10.3 WHQL posting does not have."

No real reason to wait then. Unless you're hung up on only running WHQL.

Afterburner wont work with these drivers so i cant tell how much of a increase they give me.
Thats the only problem i have with ATI cards....You get shit drivers or good drivers with nothing to overclock your card with.

they are there, but greyed out for me because my monitor has absolutely no scaling problems at all. It's always worked for me when i've needed it tbh (usually on HDTV's).
