Crap, I left out the n. Ok, fixed. I found that you do have to look for somethings like installmanager, CCC.exe and Mom.exe at times.

Where in the heck are you guys pulling up this video converter? I don't even have that option. I reinstalled the drivers but un-ticked the IDE, etc. drivers. It's loaded but I don't even see that option.

10.5 BETA Unofficial Benchmarks . . .

EDIT: THANKS FOR MOVING EROCKER :)

Okay, so.. I am a little buttery on downloading BETA's because they've always seemed to haunt me and make my GPU/CPU fail. Anyway's I took my chances and said why not and downloaded today the 10.5 BETA. It run's fine and stable ATM. I am going to play some BFBC2 soon and see if I get any FPS boost's or random crashes compared to the 10.3b drivers. Without a further ado, I will show you my benchie's.

Note: All test's are running in Crossfire.

===SYSTEM CONFIG===

Processor: AMD 965 BlackEdition @ 3.8 Ghz

Memory: Corsair Dominator (OEM) 4 Gb @ 9-9-9-24

Hard Drive: 640 Gb (Raid 0) Samsung @ 7,200 RPM

Cooler: Asetek 240mm LCLC with (2x) 120mm Enermax Cooler Fans (White LED)

Case: CoolMaster Storm Sniper

Video Cards: ATI 5850 PowerColor (OEM) X ATI 5850 XFX XXX BlackEdition

===SYSTEM CONFIG===

All Drivers are updated. It say's 10.3 because it's a BETA driver. The Driver Package, however tell's you it's 10.5

First test's I've started off with Default clock speeds and max settings on Far Cry 2 and Crysis Warhead

==================
CRYSIS BENCHMARK

Not too bad, considering Crysis's doesn't like to be run in Crossfire for some odd reason.

AFTER O/C

CONCLUSION: I still believe that 1 FPS lost prooves that Crysis isn't a crossfire friendly game. I remember seeing a guy's 5970 in crossfire gave major FPS drop to like 20 FPS vs 80+ FPS.
==================
FAR CRY 2 BENCHMARK

Default's

After O/C

CONCLUSION: It did give out better FPS on my first benchmark review (1000/1300), so maybe it tweaked a couple of games that run smoother with ATI products. About 1% increase in Crossfire isn't a biggie. But getting 91 FPS is better than 75 FPS, I got with the 10.2 drivers.
==================
FINAL OVER CLOCK

I used AMD GPU tool because AFTER BURNER 1.5 is making my CPU freeze, I tried to unlock the overclocking in the .cfg file, restarted MSI AB and it froze. I had to go into Safe Mode and delete it. IF ANYBODY get's the same freeze problems let me know. It may/may not be a 10.5 bug.

I decided to take a test with Crysis Warhead since it uses more power than Far Cry 2 does. The result's were amazing! Max was at 81 FPS.

=================
Final Thoughts: Well it appears there are some bugs and when I tried to go 960/1300 my screen would start flashing and have weird lines like an old TV. I dropped to 900/1300 and made it stable. I would recommend everybody to use 10.3a or 10.3b because they are more stable and less buggy...

Extended monitor 2d idle clock too low when GPU overclocked is finally resolved with this driver, clocks stay at 400/1200 (or whatever speed your GPU RAM is clocked at) instead of dropping to 157/300 which caused screen distortion.

thanx for the benchies but i see a couple issues perhaps you could work out.. I installed the cat 10.5's on my g/f's rig and the driver says 10.5.. not 10.3.. so i think maybe the install hasn't gone completely as planned, run driver sweeper and start fresh and install.

maybe i need to just pay b etter attention however you only posted what are supposed to be 10.5 benchies.. however we can't tell what the performance is with you system compared to the older driver set. Perhaps you can do a fresh install of each and compare them?? i'll do the same as i'm using 10.3's right now.

I ran a few benches myself. I used the 10.3b's to do the first set and the 10.5's to do the second set, and used the exact same settings and oc for both. Specs are in each cpu-z and gpu-z, the should be the same for all benches.

Catalyst 10.3b

Crysis Warhead 1920x1080 all enthusiast, 8xaa, dx10.

Farcry2: 1920x1080, 8x aa, performance:very high for all, render quality d3d10: ultra high

Street fighter 4 benchmark: 1920x1080, everything max post processing or whatever the call it on

3dmark vantage: performance defaults

Now for some 10.5 results

crysis warhead-same settings as 10.3b

farcry2: same settings as 10.3b

street fighter 4-same settings as 10.3b

3dmark vantage-same 10.3b settings yet again

So based on my own experiences with this.. I think that the 10.3b's are a bit better overall.. The features included in the new drivers are simply of little to no use to me.. and as a fan of the benchmarks.. these drivers seem a bit slower overall.

I agree there seems to be a performance drop from 10.3b to 10.5. Has anybody get lines again during BFBC2? It's still crashing too! We need a hot fix ASAP

i heard elsewhere that these fix some issues with ATI's DXVA implementation of hardware decoding with H264 - if someone can upload JUST the 7 x64 files (i cant afford such a massive download) then i can test to see if this is true or not.

Okay, I am going to do a fresh install of 10.5 and see if I did something wrong, but I'm still convinced I had 10.5 running in the first place. I've been reading aroudn and it does help BFBC2 load times A LOT faster. However, I am still getting flickering and so are other people, if it still flickers, I am going back to 10.3b

No way! They finally integrated Avivo into the Advanced CCC! Looks like they might be dropping the name Avivo too. I'll be brave and try them. Let's see what they do with CrossFire. :D

Another cool feature, if you are using a graphics card on a mobo with integrated, you can now switch between the two on the fly.

Wait, what? Do you mean crossfired, or with seperate (different gen) cards as well?
I'd love this with a 5850 and a 4200 IGP.

its been covered WAY too many times, ignore that. these DO NOT Have a build number, so they show one of your previously installed driver.

Oh you! I was just waiting for him to say that there's errors in these drivers so I could start explaining what a beta is :D

These are okay. Downloaded, uncompressed and installed used up about 900MB of my HDD! Bad Company 2 still has flickering textures. I've noticed places where I had slowdowns on 10.3beta in Borderlands, BC2, & Wolfenstein seem to be much better on these drivers. I can actually play Borderlands at my native res maxed out without it being choppy. My overclock isn't as stable now, however. I used to be okay at 1000/1150 on the HD4890, now it doesn't like going above ~960/1125 on this driver.... Maybe the driver makes better use of the ASIC, so the core frequency is less stable when it's up that high.

Drivers are okay in the few video games I play. Still waiting for a fix for the Bad company 2 grass & snow textures flickering.
