Not that great of a deal to be honest. I can get a 1.5tb Seagate on Newegg right now for $80 shipped.

Well, the Caviar Black that he has listed here is $56 cheaper than it is listed at NewEgg, so it's a pretty good deal.

1 year vs 3 years warranty.
    5900RPM vs 7200RPM.
    Good deal.

    Phusius says thanks.

True! Also, WD Blacks have a 5 year warranty while the Seagate has two.

No, 5 vs. 2 and they are both 7200RPM drives. ;) I suppose the difference with the warranty is worth it.

I though you were talking about this one: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=57130&vpn=ST1500DL003&manufacture=Seagate&promoid=1375

I read too fast, didn't see the newegg part.

On newegg it says 5 and 2 but on NCIX it says 3 and 1... DAFUQ

    For WD

"Warranty length may vary per specific model. Western Digital Raptor and Caviar RE series enterprise drives are covered by a 5 year warranty. Caviar and Caviar SE desktop drives are covered by a 3 year warranty for OEM drives, and a 1 year warranty for Retail."

    For Seagate

"The remainder of the one year warranty is provided directly by the manufacturer."

5 vs 1 as most of the Seagate are still 1year, because of the stock. Only newer fabrics are 2y. One of the reason why I do nto buy seagate right now :D as no shop will tell me if it's a 2y or 1y.

No one likes Thailand flooding prices. I still have a small inventory of 2TB Caviar Blacks that I picked up for $50/each. Waiting for prices to return where they should be...ish...mostly :D
