Honestly I really don't see this as my problem since I don't have one. I just never wanted to play Deus Ex because I'm not into these type of games. The one that is making me try these games is CyberPunk not Deus Ex so draw conclusions from this rather than what you think

You used to be able to gift games you had bought but not redeemed on Steam. Not anymore, unless you still have some in your inventory.

Now, with GOG and Steam you have to buy a game directly for someone else.

As to selling, no.

You can't sell them, but a GOG install, lacking DRM, can be transferred to somebody else's PC

I'm thinking you can use this method to give the game to just about anybody, once you're done with it. I've never done it, but it's the closest you can get to selling.
I remember Stardock games could be copied to no end, but they required their installer to download patches. That was their method to limit piracy (they openly admitted they don't want to fight piracy).
