Ok I see alot of these post recently and I have found a way to use Winflash to BIOS Flash.
First down load winflash
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1122/Winflash_2.0.1.2.html

Now extract it to say C:\WINFLASH also your bios files should be in here,rename the asus file to 4870_TOP.BIN .
Now copy paste this into your notepad

@Echo Please wait while I'm trying to flash your Video Card...Thanks!

atiwinflash -f -p 0 4870_TOP.BIN

now click SAVE AS and put this TOP.BAT ,Bat files run from the dos command prompt.Make sure you save to the folder c:\winflash.When done click the bat file and it should start flashing the card for you.Wait until it pops up saying flashing complete and give a window on what was changed then reboot if only ONE card.For two cards you need to run the second bat file with the text below then reboot when BOTH cards are flashed.I hope this makes it easy for guys to do this.

Use the bottom section here if you have 2 cards in crossfire....Same as above method.
for the second card try this

atiwinflash -f -p 1 4870_TOP.BIN

0= your first card
1= second card

Ok now that we have your cards flashed,Time to get some fancontrol from ASUS .
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/vga/app/

Download SmartDoctor 5.23 this is the fan control program but you also need the GAMER_OSD from the same link.If you have WINXP try this link for the gamer_OSD

ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/vga/GamerOSD/

Thanks working fine here too, but asus gamerosd keeps crashing at start, tried first with asus own old ati drivers but also now with ati 8.8 , using vista64 ult.
