My aunt's Socket 775 motherboard recently died. 
It smells like something overheated near the CPU area. I'm concerned that the CPU is damaged too, but I can't be sure since I don't have a motherboard to test it with. If anyone has something under $50 shipped that will support an e6550 and DDR2 memory, I could really use it. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular, I just need it to work so I can confirm the status of the CPU. If you want to look up my heat, my username is the same as here, Shadowdust.
