Yeah, I saw the deal on the Dell(it was actually $179 when I bought it

), and then just started looking through some of the other monitors Dell sells, and came accross the CRT. :laugh:

I couldn't believe they even still ~~sell~~ make those things.

LOL at the CRT for $100. :roll:

The 24 is nice though. It has nice lines. Kinda funny that they made the back white.. make me think this monitor is sort of designed to be in a business environment since you rarely see the back of a home monitor IMO. Dell screen are like blenders.. they'll run forever. My office deals solely with Dell and I've yet to see a Dell screen die.

I just received my new screen this week too. I decided to break the bank a little to get something little larger than 24"since I was upgrading from a 22". I bought a Samsung P2770h and I couldnt be happier. I know at this size It's almost too big to be 1920x1080 but I didn't want to try running games on a 2500x1600 res.

I'd still kill for one of those 24 inch sony crt trinitrons.. can't beat the color/viewing angle and what not. Unfortunately my glass desk has a max rating of 75 pounds, and my back gives out somewhere around there too.

Actually, it is going in a business environment, it is replacing the 19" HP w1907 on me desk at work.

I'm still stuck with the 22" at home right now, but I already have plans to replace that after taxes this year with a Vizio Razor LED HDTV, assuming they've released a 26" model by then of course.

I absolutely love my Samsung 26" HDTV/Monitor. Though pricey it boasts a 1920x1200 native resolution. Makes me sad to go back my old Dell 2405 that's on my SOHO desktop.

I don't know why anyone would buy from Dell, given their business practices and crappy products. Seriously.

It's not fun reading about people returning monitor after monitor and then having Dell refuse to give a refund or even allow users to post a negative comment about them.

Yeah i was looking for a LED in the same size (26"-28") but the biggest I could find in Canada was a 24" Acer LED. It was nice and not too expensive ($300 CAD) but I wanted something BIGGER so I "settled" for this 27" LCD but I'm happy with it. I guess the vizio LED will have a TV tuner built in as well?

Because, despite what some say, they actually make good products and have excellent support? I know that is why I still purchase from them.

Yes, the Vizio is a standard HDTV w/ Tuner, so it also has two HDMI ports(so I can hook my PS3 up also :rockout:

), component, and VGA. Of course that is the specs of the 23" model, as the 26" hasn't come out yet, but I can't imagine the 26" model being any worse.

The other benefit will be that built in speakers, which shouldn't be total crap like most speakers built into standard monitors. I'm no audiophile, I use cheap $25 2.1 speaker setup now that I bought from Wal-mart, but the speakers on most monitors are even below my standards. :laugh:

I'll lose a little desk space to the bigger monitor, but gain some by getting rid of the speakers, hopefully it balances out.
