In my expereince the extra heatpipes certainly help but thats only an ingredient, design, finish/contact etc etc play just as important a part and to a big degree........fan power/airflow.

the ifx-14 needs more heatpipes to be comparable.as that is the single reason the extreme beats the ultra. Maybe if they used 6 8mm placed side by side by side they could get better performance. They need to spread the heatpipes out in the cooler not just in the edge of the fins or in a strait line.

I think that the Rosewill RCX-Z5-Ultra would create a air flow traffic jam thus creating higher temperatures.
