Cherry MX style switches on mechanical keyboards

If you own a mechanical keyboard, it probably has cherry mx style switches. Which is your favorite color, black, brown, blue, red, or clear/speed? I realize it's just a personal preference but do more people favor linear or non linear? Be interesting to know. I've found the Corsair keyboards to be quite nicely built. Although cheaper models offer no wrist support, I first tried one with blue switches and then traded it back for another with red switches. I like the red switches personally. The clear have a slightly higher actuation point, but that might not be what works for you. They are linear and not as loud, as a trade off for not having tactile feedback for when you actually hit the point of contact. Just a personal preference. What's yours?

ive had MxRed from Corsair (not a fan) ive used Das KB, Ducky too, & they were nice, iirc they were Brown/red respectively. but My favorite to date is my Azio MGK1RGB (Kailh Blue) . Ive owned 2, and both were great quality, & function wise.

I like clear or red. I use a KB with clear at home and one with red at work. I prefer clear slightly.

I have tried red, blue, brown and black, brown being my favourite

I am currently using TTC Browns (Roccat Suora FX) having previously had Cherry MX Browns in a Logitech G610, and i think they feel a little nicer, but i'm not sure how much of that is the switches, and how much is the board construction

I have a Mionix Zibal with Cherry Blacks which i like too, i cant really feel much difference between black and brown tbh

Reds are good too, i had a cherry mx board with these

Only one i didnt like was Blue's, i have tried a Razer out with blue's and didnt like the feel of it, i cant really put a finger on why, it just didnt feel as nice as the red and black boards in the store i also tried out at the time

I've tried every MX Cherry switch, ever the rarer clears. Brown is my favorite followed by MX Clears.

I'm currently using an electrostatic capacitive keyboard and I personally find it better than Cherry Switches.

Razer doesn't use cherry mx blues, they use kaihua switches. They are cheap knockoff of Cherry MX Blues.

Currently using Cherry MX Brown on a Logitech G610. Very pleased with the feel of them.

Cherry MX Speed (linear, actually it's called MX Speed Silver) is not equivalent with Cherry MX Clear (tactile bump).

As my main daily driver I use my favorite MX Clear with custom 68g spring and also 60% keyboard with Gateron Yellow.

I've also tried :
- MX Red : too light
- MX Black : great switch
- MX Brown : too light, not enough tactile feedback, just a "dirty" Red
- MX Blue : nice clicky feedback, but loud for work environment
- MX Green : heavier than Blue, nice feedback, although the click sound is louder than Blue
- MX White : IMO the best tactile clicky switch from Cherry, heavy enough and the soft click just feels so satisfying and not as loud as Blue or Green
- most of Gateron switches (Red, Blue, Green, Black, Yellow) and Zealio (67g).

I have a Corsair K70 with MX Blues. I love the clicky aspect of MX Blues.

Being more of a gamer than any thing else, brown all day long. Blues always end up failing on me sooner or later they tend to stop clicking.

Currently I'm on Gateron Brown switches and loving it. On their own they are a bit loud, but o-rings bring it down to acceptable levels.
Unlike previous Kailh, it's been 6 months and I had not a single broken switch, even though I use my kb about twice as much and much more actively (lots of typing, coding, Quake).

I would also like to make a compact gaming kb with linear switches, like MX Red or MX Silent. Browns are good for absolutely everything, but not 100% perfect for FPS gaming.

I love the brown on my corsair k95 rgb. I love the feel and the noise is present but not bad(I like the click noise). I hate the mx red feel, also I notice no issues while gaming with the Browns

Iv owned Duckys and all were blue switches, I use a Lolita Spider at work and that uses Kailh Reds. I prefer blue switches myself, but I use my machine for alot of write-ups not necessarily gaming. Why I could see why something like reds might be prefered for games. I like my blues all the same.

Tried black red and brown and stuck with Kailh Browns, good for everything (typing/gaming).

The need for 'Cherry' is long gone. The Chinese make identicals that are cheaper.

I don't know, my membrane, low-profile (non-chiclet) keyboard is damn good. It cost me like $15 6 or 7 years ago and still going strong.

browns are the best imo, nice little bump lets you know when you typo and they are so light that they leave no strain after hours (days) of constant use.

as for cherry vs saith, after using both i still can't tell them apart past the price xD
