Hi all,
as advised I opened another thread just for the OS I have picked for any advice or simply to share.
Woke up this morning and before coffee I started with fresh install.
I picked Linux Mint - Mate Edition . Reason for picking : "broaded hardware support" and the Mint guide said : :If you don't know what to choose, pick Mate edition" .
After having Cinnamon desktop and Mate on the same ext. SSD and tried both, I can confirm ( at least for my PC) , Mate - desktop works better.
First wall I hit was the formatting. With 5-min crash course, I created 4 partitions :
/boot - 300 mb ( ext2)
/ (root) - 20 gb (ext4)
/swap - 2xRAM size ( my case 16GB) (ext4)
/home - the rest of the SSD ( about 200 GB) (ext4)
Second wall I hit - it keeps asking me for my password everywhere.
To be continued later today.
