Choosing a budget monitor?

Hello forums, I need a new monitor to go with my gaming rig, (I have a GTX 660ti OC 2GB version)

the thing is, I am on a strict budget and i can only pay 100 quid (pounds)

I saw a couple of intriguing ones, maybe you guys can help me choose or find a better alternative. my main use for this machine is gaming, so a 23" and <5ms will be nice, other specs are helpful too. I may stretch my budget to 130/140 for a 120hz if it impresses me but i cant find one as of far

Hi,

So I would go the LG personally.The ones you have linked are pretty simular in specs. But they would be good for what you want them for. I have the model before that LG you linked and It has to be one of the best buys I have made.

LG IPS hands down, i have the touch control version of that monitor the 226V and its great

all I can say is do not buy benq unless budget is supertight and you just need a monitor. You will be reminded every day that it is budget.

The LG is much better for that extra $20 premium or so. I have a samsung 27" and i picked it over the LG. Dell IPS screens are also excellent. I have them at work too and it definitely doesn't strain my eyes as I'm staring at it 8-9 hours a day.

i can strongly recommend Hanns G 241 and Hanns G 251D if you can find either.
I have them set up for multi monitor use.
The only drawback that i have found is the settings buttons are hard to read apart from that they are good crisp and clear.

Cant recommend a particular retailer i think i paid 110 - 120 quid each

Another LG owner here.
I have the LG IPS34v-PN which is the size down from the LG monitor you are looking at.

Color reproduction and viewing angle is great.
No ghosting noticed but then again my apparent 2ms Samsung LCD actually had pretty bad ghosting.
Stand is considered wobbly in reviews but that is a very minor issue unless you tend to touch the monitor often for some reason.
Default setting for the monitor out of the box was far too bright for my liking.
There is back light bleed on either side of the LG logo down the bottom which is noticed on black color and with the room light turned off.

The monitor is great value for money and you can even turn off the big power light to the bottom right if it annoys you apparently.

If you live in the UK and your budget for a screen is £100, you may want to look at 2nd hand pc equipment shops in your area... you might find something surprisingly good (plus you get to see how the colors look before you buy).

But in any case at that budget buy LG, Samsung or Viewsonic.

If you find a model that suits you, check the internet reviews before you buy.
