Which board would you reccomend? I'm replacing my current ECS KA3 MVP due to stability problems. I've always liked abit and I'm pretty able when it comes to getting them to work, cause when they do, they can't die. As for SLI/Crossfire, well there is only one crossfire board out thats 'decent' and its the one I have, not enjoying it. I was curious though if the NF4SLI chipset would be a good option simply cause it would allow me to upgrade later, and the technology isnt bad, only think that changed in AM2 was really just the memory controller, chipsets never had to change. Anyway though, I'd like to order this thing tonight so I could get it by friday, so suggestions are really appreciated!

IMO the asus board doesn't look impressing..Asus Doesn't seem to catch my attention.. I'd go with the Gigabyte

Gigabyte, is slow and is expensive, i have seen many gigabyte boards perform far under compared to an asus.

My first option on any board usaully is dfi or abit..Gigabyte makes decent boards... Just In this situation Im not sure... Abit?

SLI is not imperative for me to have. Seems like the ASUS is everyones favorite so far though. As for gigabyte the old s478 GA8IPE1000Pro I had was the best p4 motherboard i had ever laid my hands on.

I would recommend this. It's DFI Infinity NF UltraII-M2. It has 2 PCIe, but nForce 4 Ultra, so you can mod it later to SLI.

Sound's good, cause im literally ready to order it, made my deposit and i got the money. ASUS seems like the winner. As for my current mobo, i'm willing to sell it for 130 shipped, other than that though, i'm just going to send it in for a refund after i recieve the new one.

As of now Asus owns Gigabyte, so the boards should be simular in design and price.
DFI has several of the winning AM2 MB's.
Since I do not want nor need SLI, I am going with the DFI INFINITY NF ULTRAII-M2.
This board is prime stuff, from what I read from actual users this MB can't be beat.
Great performance, can utilize PC2-1000 down to PC2-667. Match this MB with an AMD
X2-4200 or even higher and see why much of nuthing can keep up.
The EGG has this MB for less than $90.00

it gives a lot of problems, memory and boot related, i know this for personnal experience, choose other, you aren't going to like the M2N-E, after a couple days you wan't to smash and send a mail to ASUS that the board sucks

AGREED. my refund for it just went through today, i bout it thinking i could do some decent overclocking and tweaking... it was useless to me... and had a few other bugs and annoying sound issues...

it overcloks pretty well (M2N-E), i see some going up to 360FSB wich is pretty good, mine is at 289mhz, it just has lot of problems in boot and memory :banghead:
