1440x900 is 19" resolution and 2 4870 x2 isn't needed. I have a single 4870 x2 on a 22" and I play games fine. Plus for dual video card setup, it's gonna swallow loads of wattage/amps. You will need a 1000W+ for 2 4870 x2 since both of those will use atleast 650w idle/load.

I would wait for the radeon 4770 (should be coming out the 29th) and get 2 of those. MSRP is $99 so you'll probably pay about $210 - $215 after shipping.

A 4890 is fine for you... no need for any higher (money wasting).

I don't want fine, I want to be able to run anything on max, with smooth fps.

Sorry if I sound like selfish or something! haha :p

I'm well aware that wattage will be 1000+ for 2.

Doesn't x2 mean Two cards?

You're going to get really sick of Crysis stuttering on the 4870x2.

I decided to go a little over kill.

Motherboard supports three video cards so I'm buying three HD4870's!

:D I CAN'T WAIT

I dont mean to sound like an ass but whatever gets the point across.

The way you are talking (writing) makes it seem as though you just bought three cards because its a bigger number than 1 and 2.

Do realize that adding an extra video card doesn't improve your performance a whole GPU's worth it doesn't work like that. Its more like 1 card = full performance, two gpus = about 180% and that depends on the games. And 3 gpus (depends on different things) is around 150%ish same goes with 4 gpus, in fact it sometimes worsens it.

Good luck!

Oh, thanks, that's helpful.

I haven't bought them yet, It was a decision :p

I've got one installed, a second will be bought with another 650PW.

But hey, thanks to your epic knowledge a third won't be needed :)
