I currently have amd x2 4000+ with a 8800 gs oced running. This is my current mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186128

Yesterday i went to frys electronics and got two mobos that were on clearance (thanks to slickdeals.net).

First mobo is "MSI K9A Platinum ( crossfire ready )"
second mobo is "Abit KN9-sli ( sli ready )"

Obviously both are socket am2. Can someone please tell me out of those three mobos which one will be best for me because i want some more performance in css and perhaps overclock also.

Someone was saying that MSI will be bad for me because i have nvidia card.

If you are planning to do SLI in the future, then you have to get the Abit board.

Yeah abit for Sli unless your thinking of going to ATI but if not keep the abit sell the Msi and out of the money invest in another 8800gs. That would be a sweet rig.

Regardless, it's probablly best to use the K9A Platinum. If you feel like you want to go dual cards, just sell the GS and pick up a couple ATi cards.

I do not want dual cards hehe. I play cod 4, css and that is it. The MSI board was 20 bucks at frys electronics brand new pretty good deal. Is the MSI mobo better than my foxconn? Will i see a performance difference if i was to use the msi board? i might overclock a bit also.

Im not sure on the OC ability's of that MSI, but i have no doubt that its does, all in all i would keep the Msi if SLI is not on the cards.

I doubt you'll see a difference but the MSI allows for further expansion, tv card, sound card etc.. because its ATX not mATX.
