Hello friends, currently I have an HD6950 1GB version that I want to replace since the memory is limiting the performance at 1080p and now that I added a second monitor it became even more obvious.

My Budget is limited and I can only buy from local webstores. Below are my options and the price they are at.

At 297 euros I can get :

Asus AMD Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II, 3072MB, GDDR5, 384bit, HDMI, 2x DVI, Display Port, CoolTech Fan

Or the same version resold at 270 euros ( Returned product, only disadvantage is that I loose the free games promotion )

OR

Sapphire Radeon R9 280X OC Vapor-X Tri-X WITH BOOST 3GB DDR5 384-bit

OR

nVidia option at 240 euros
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC WindForce 3X 2GB DDR5 256-bit

I'm looking for a card with OC potential and good VRM, good cooling and good price/performance ratio. Please help me decide, thank you so much for the help !

I am also a fan of the Vapor-X cards. Are you interested in any of the NVIDIA features such as Shadow Play or the possibility of G-sync, and other features, etc. Or are you more interested in raw performance? Or performance : price ratios?

The 770 might perform a very little bit better since it performs a tiny bit better than the 680 and since the 280X is a rebadged 7970. It sells for €10 more so I say go for it.

Thank you all for the replies !

I end up going for the Sapphire Tri-X Vapor-X since I always owned Sapphire cards and was never dissapointed and due to Mantle. I inclined to get the 770 but I don't trust Gigabyte since I've had many friends that had problems with cards from them including coil noise, screen artifacts or defective cooling.

You wont be dissapointed. Vapor-X and very very quiet, reliable cards and the r290 version looks amazzzzzing. I have the tri-x 290 and its very quiet and amazing card. I might considering selling it though because i may purchase the nvidia shield. You wont be dissapointed tho!

Hey if you have a Digital multimeter could you help me check how sapphire has their VRM wired because I can't figure it out without getting my hands on a card and I recently did a R9 290(X) VRM run down on my blog but I didn't have the necessary info for the Vapor-X cards. If you're willing to help me I'll post what and where you have to measure.
