Chrome: Disabling balloons from tabs

Hi all,

I don't suppose anyone knows how to disable this new 'feature' from Chrome? A google search doesn't reveal anything and its annoying AF.

"New" feature? Pretty sure it is has been there for a very long time. I see similar "suggestions" with Pale Moon, IE, FireFox, and Edge. I don't see how a browser can (or should) assume where you want to go. It is very possible there could be a site called sitename.com and other sites called sitename.net, sitename.eu, and more - some that could, perhaps, be malicious or unsuitable for young eyes.

I did however, look to see how to disable those suggestions and I can't find where to disable that either. Sorry.

Thanks for looking Bill.

It isn't a standard hover-over like you usually get, this balloon hover-over happens when you are on one of your open tabs. I use Chrome daily for extended periods at times and this is new.

Edit - I found it, finally.

As soon as I realized it was a 'hover thing' I found you can go to chrome://flags/ search for 'hover' and disable ti there :D

Well for the record, I see the hover balloons (tooltips) in my browser (Pale Moon) too. For example, when I hover over the tab for this thread, I see

I have no clue what the "(25)" means as I see that on other TPU tabs, but for different threads, too.

Anyway, I am glad you figured it out and thanks for coming back and posting what you found. :)

Using a browser made by a company that collects and sells personal information, and its bjorked? Not Surprised. "Use anything but..." list is not that long and there are lots of browsers to use.
