And most of us acknowledge that. Wizz is, however, apparently perfectly willing to at least consider alternatives, whether or not he chooses to change his mind.

Except, what you are saying runs counter to what the mods, especially @sneekypeet have been saying. Yes it is W1zzard's site to do what he wants, and I said that several days ago. But he and the mods are willing to come up with an equitable solution for both sides. People have to stop bitching and start making honest suggestions though.
Yes, quite. I wonder if you've seen my constructive suggestion in post 246 and would like to know what you think of it? :)

To answer Mr Scott - In the end, although there's no money involved, one side still needs the other so there's a kind of social contract - members need a forum that works for them and the site needs active members for hits to earn ad revenue or even to just give the site a reason to exist, so saying that it's his site and move along he doesn't owe you anything if you don't like it ignores this important fact entirely and is therefore incorrect.

If you really think this site needs any of you you're dreaming. There is an endless stream of pigeons that will produce hits on this site and a whole slew of forums out there just like this one.
You are a small fish in a big pond.

Someone tagged me on this thread so I guess I will throw my 2 cents in. I would have responded sooner but I was on a mandatory vacation.

I have nothing invested in this site. Neither money as the owner does, nor time and effort as the staff do so I have no say in what will be on TPU but if I did I would ask that an off topic area be put on the main TPU site. Maybe place it at the very end so that when members are reading through the new posts when they get to the off topic area they could just sign off and not be exposed to anything non-tech related if they didn't want to see it. It should be expected that members not abuse that area and continue to conduct themselves as they do in the other areas in a sensible manner. From what I've seen the moderators are saying that the off topic banter is spilling over to the other areas and causing problems so I don't see that happening.

As far as GN, I don't see it as an off topic area and wouldn't sign up for an account there or use it because it's mostly dead.

Whatever the staff work out I agree that the UK clubhouse should remain. It's been there for almost 9 years and was started about 4 years before erocker posted the forum guidelines there.
