CoD 5 WaW with Display Driver Issue

Greetings, I am running Windows Vista Premium with a ATI Radeon 3800 HD. While running Call of Duty 5 I get a atikmdag error that generaly gets followed up by a black screen. I can still hear the game sounds but no visual. I have tried deleting the old driver and downloading the latest driver as well as d/ling just the driver and not CCC. I still get the display driver issue. Any suggestions?
