Let's talk about next generation intel cpus and how far they are from now to come out.

Is that's true that they will come out in october ?

What will be the actual price for i9-9900k ? I assume it will be somewhere in 420$ to 450$ range.

It makes somewhat sense because one year earlier i7-8700k was released for 370$.

Undisputable truth that these procesors already are in producion and even working.

I'm with @cucker tarlson on this one.. Even with my 5960X here still kicking along nicely, there's no reason for me personally that Intel would have any of my money for this CPU...

9900K is a better alternative to 7820x or the entry level 10 core threadripper, but not a 5960x replacement if you already have one, neither is it worth the extra cost over 8700k/9700k.

I probably wouldn't feel compelled to upgrade from a 5960x either, unless my system was plagued by issues caused by meltdown/specture fuckery updates...

So it finally happened. HW prices went up. From $350 average to $380 average. So only 8.5% increase? I thought the tatiff hits 10%

8-Cores, still using the super-low latency Intel Ring Bus. WOW, the 9900K might be a phenomenal CPU.

9700K 8C8T, I'm not certain just what to think. Disabled hyperthreading on the 8086K when the 9700K was announced (umm leaked LOL) and my three daily apps in terms of responsiveness slowed down, one only slightly, and two significantly.

So who knows what to expect from the 9700K and 9900K.

Do hope they clock really HIGH.

Also hoping for Cinebench ST Single thread scores surpassing the 8700K/ 8086K...its a total mystery for now, must wait for reviews.

For now, I will leave you with this screenshot and hope the new Intel 9000 Series can do better.

i9-9900k will be soldered but how much cooler it will be than i7-8700k "toaster" ?

For example i7-8700k can go up to 4.8GHz on all cores with decent air cooling and temperatures.

Don't forget that after delidding i7-8700k temperatures are dropping approximately ~ 15 - 20c.

Translation: expensive, expensive, expensive. The i9-7900X went for $1000. Under normal circumstances, Intel would sell it for $500-600, add the manufacturing difficulties and tariffs on top, I can't see it going for less than $700. It is the highest performing chip for moderate wattage.

Process wise, little has changed. It will be hot.

you can always try for 1950x,they're coming down a lot.

1920x is cheaper than 9900k will be,and better for multithreading.
