To be more specific the Rallycross races, UK and France.
Doesn't matter what setting I use I get bad lag spikes and it's obviously from the amount of cars then the objects on the circuit at the time.
Only way I can win the races is by smashing the other cars out of the way since I can't break in time due to the lag in certain areas of the tracks.

Single player races are smooth with no problems, other multi-car races besides the rallycross races are playable 30fps avg.

DiRT seems like a poor console port across to PC which only high-end machines can actually play even though I meet the recommended specs on the box.

Is there anyone who plays this game without these issues besides console users?

Have you guys tried disabling HDR? With doing a few performance tweaks with the shadows and disabling HDR I do about 25fps @ 800x600. The game needs dual core and at least 2GB ram which I am lacking.

Didn't expect you to have performance issues.

Have you completed career mode anyway?
Ferodo Rallycross championship has real bad performance on my system.

Also noticed the DiRT performs worse offline than online in multi-car races.
Something in the exe is using more resources offline.

If this game is anything to go by with the future of Codemasters PC gaming, I'm not buying anything else from the ever.

My bro is getting some lag on his sytem.
His 8800GTX with the unified shaders I think is helping him but still it sucks because he is still getting lag.

If so, it must be mainly a GPU issue. . . .
    You have CF XTX.

Looks like it has to do with the high-poly count of the cars IMO giving the lag.
