Its official! We have C&C 4 on the way! :rockout:

Command & Conquer 4 Details and Media
After Command & Conquer 4's accidental announcement yesterday, EA has revealed details and the media from the "epic conclusion to the beloved Tiberium universe."
With Tiberium threatening to render Earth entirely uninhabitable, the warring Nod and GDI factions find themselves allied with the common goal of saving humanity, and at long last the world will discover "Kane's motivations behind his decade-long plan."

A bit of concept art (left) and the first screenshot (right).
"A multitude of innovations" are promised, including "new class-based gameplay, mobile bases and persistent player progression throughout all game modes."
As well as the usual pair of singleplayer campaigns--which can be played solo or cooperatively--C&C 4 will introduce "a new 5v5 objective-based multiplayer mode."

Command & Conquer 4 is slated to arrive on PC in 2010, developed by EA Los Angeles.

I've been wanting a good RTS for awhile now. If it's DX11, I will definitely give it a shot.

The first shot above is actual gameplay. Looks pretty sweet to me.

Definitely looks good from the shots. But it's only a 720 and it's fairly low quality. Hard to judge, for me at least.

I really enjoyed C&C3 so I hope this is going to be as good, if not better.

Especially after RA3 which I really didn't like...

the command and conquer tiberium universe was cool
KANE LIVES IN DEATH!

i wonder what will happen to the scrin? that was a kinda stupid addition to the CnC universe i mean all they needed to explain was a huge random asteroid crashed into earth and spread an alien crystal everywhere

now its like the scrin deliberately sent the asteroid stupid!

i like the screenies looks sweet, i thought CnC 3 was nice looking style and did the job

Ew.... Generals was what happens when you let EA's PR department in charge of a videogame.
Public Relations? They actually listened to what the people wanted? No wonder why it was so good.

Generals was good, I liked it well enough.

I do prefer the story and cheesy cut scenes in Tiberium though.

I loved the Ion Cannon in Generals. My personal favorite was building 6 Ion Cannon control buildings so that I could just raze enemy bases. Criss-crossing beams of death raking across things = win.

Meh, C&C4 was inevitable. after they introduced the Scrin, EA had to tie up the storyline; my speculation is that Nod and the GDI team up to defeat the Scrin after Nod finally realise that the Scrin are their enemies. everything has been leading up to a proper full-on showdown with the Scrin and their Tiberium sowing-habits.

EDIT: oops, i just read the blurb on the first post (i was too taken in by the pretty pretty screenies. sue me)

generals was like command and conquer but it had nothing to do with the storyline or universe

they shouldve called it something else, it was okay but i didnt like it that much tbh i prefer the original tiberium games they just for each ones time felt good

Command & Conquer means what it says: command & conquer. If command & conquer literally meant "must have tiberium," Red Alert also doesn't fit. I think command & conquer is suggestive of the underlying engine and what the game is fundamentally about--not indicitive of story. Still, sticking numbers on it like 3/4 threw out any pattern they had in the past (no numbers, just C&C: description).

What I liked about Generals is very much the same why I like Earth 2150. The three factions had very different approaches to the same problem but were still well balanced. For instance, in Generals, you had the suicidal GLA which had the advantage of highly upgradable units, the ground forces leaning Chinese which had cheap infantry and devasting tanks, and the allies which had superior base defense and air power. In Earth 2150, you have the tank-you ED which had ion weapons, the UCS which had plasma weapons, and LC which had electro cannons. All of the above allowed for completely different styles of play in the same situations.

On the other hand, in C&C3, every faction has a functionally equivilent unit in the other two races. Frankly, it didn't take very long for me to get tired of C&C3. :(

The addition of the Japanese empire killed RA3 for me.

I loved Earth 2150 as well, amazing game. Overlooked. Sequel was horrid.
