very nice...

I think the best games have been the ones that have been accessible, which helped bring in a much larger audience

Where have we heard this before...

And apparently it's not actually Bioware, it's just a sub-company owned by them with their label.

I stopped reading halfway. Terrorist blowing a few people up and then that overreacted stuff happens like in the previous parts of the franchise. As if terrorists can turn things into a sort of third world war and actual fronts. And after WWII no western country would risk a war at such scale as it will only lead to extreme costs that won't serve them well.
More realistic they say. Meh, it is simply the same as usual only with improved graphics. Still without things like routing troops, troops being exhausted, logistics messed up due to interception by hostile armies, etc. but still the "each mission as a next level" thing without any (macro) management on the campaign map. It will be the typical C&C stuff we are already playing since the nineties.
And "terrorists" should be not be wrongly depicted as a regular army that is capable of and planning to do any kind of invasion (assuming that the game does that, because that is the American view on the matter according to the news and US governmental communications (like presidential appearances on tv and the like)) because they won't and will never do that. Folks like that exist already for such a long time, that it would already have happened if it could. They are a force to be taken into account, yes, but they are of a different kind of force. Their strength lies in a "let them come" approach to the matter. But I am drifting away to a GN-like topic now.

And still i am doubtful that EA will do a good job on it. I do hope that when they release the game they DO NOT include Origin with it. The god damn program is a nightmare.

Believe me, they will. Especially with a game for the masses. --> Control.

My general rule of thumb is the more "accessible" something is, the crappier it is. Whenever Blizzard talks about making WoW more "accessible" the end result is the game being dumbed down and less enjoyable.

This could be a decent game, as long as they don't dumb it down too much and try to make it cross platform.
It seems that EA is hellbent on whoring out the Bioware brand name these days, too.

If this game is a stinker, they could put a lot of gamers off Bioware.

CNC4 again with better graphics.

CNC4 again with better graphics.

This game will not play much like C&C4. I also heard C&C4 kind of sucked compared to previous iterations of the series. Truth be told, C&C Games have been on a dive ever since EA took control of Westwood Studios. Tiberian Sun was the last C&C Game I really really enjoyed. RA2 was alright, but even that was a farcry from the glory that was C&C:RA and Tiberian Sun. But--getting derailed--all of the C&C games have a unique feel to them, and I assure you, this game won't play like a normal C&C game, but should play just like Generals, which was an oddball in the series as is.

mmm new C&C Havent played em for ages now, But like em so much would definetly play some new game . Last C&C I played was tiberium sun i think , but it was like 6y ago :P

Well that made me ... going to play some ZH today :p

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/08/command-conquer-generals-2-will-not-ship-with-single-player-mode/

Command & Conquer: Generals 2 will be launched with <co-operative and competitive> skirmishes which will be served as the game's core. However it also seems that this will come at the expense of single player mode.

So this game won't have singleplayer campaign at all. The article forgot to mention that this game is no longer called Command & Conquer: Generals 2. It's now just Command & Conquer.

Anyway this is an eyeroller. Generals 2 is dead.

as long as its not as bad as RA3...

I'd rather see a new C&C Renegade game. I liked that. :(

C&C: Generals 2 will have a single-player mode

Lol they're getting funny

“Does that mean it’s not going to have single-player? No, that’s something we've obviously heard loud and clear that is important to people,” Gibeau told Polygon of the game’s transition, reportedly confirming that a campaign is on the way.

I've just finished RA3 and Uprising for the first time. I don't think that game was bad
AI could get glitchy just like in Tiberium Wars (units could get stuck) but the rest was pretty good. Without Yuri it was little bit boring though.

More news about Generals 2. Lol I bet I'm the only one who cares:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/11/05/c...will-be-longest-running-in-franchise-history/

According to Electronic Arts, they expect Command & Conquer beta to be the “longest running beta phase in franchise history”. Command & Conquer will be powered by the Frostbite 2 engine, which is the very same game engine which is behind hits such as Battlefield 3, Need for Speed: The Run, and Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

Are there only two factions then? I used to rape and pillage as the "china" faction. But then with Zero Hour, I could steam roller pretty much everything with the Air force general.

It's dead.

Thank you for your participation over the last few months in the Command & Conquer closed alpha test. It’s been much appreciated, and you’ve been instrumental in helping define what a new Command & Conquer experience should and shouldn’t be.

Part of being in a creative team is the understanding that not all of your choices are going to work out. In this case, we shifted the game away from campaign mode and built an economy-based, multiplayer experience. Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play. That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it’s about getting you the game you expect and deserve.

Over the next 10 days we will be refunding any and all money spent in the alpha. If you have a question about your refund, please contact help.ea.com.

We believe that Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with huge potential and a great history, and we are determined to get the best game made as soon as possible. To that end, we have already begun looking at a number of alternatives to get the game back on track. We look forward to sharing more news about the franchise as it develops. Thank you again for your participation and support.
