Coming very soon...BF2142 patch v1.10!

update 12/8/06...

Before you enlist in active Beta testing duty, please read through all of the following information!

Beta Disclaimer
By taking part in this Beta you are accepting the risks related to the use of non-final code. EA and DICE are not responsible for any harm caused by the use of these files. EA will not provide customer support for any issues related to the use of any Beta related files. Any issues experienced during the use of these files should be reported to the EA Battlefield2142 Beta forums.

Backing Up your Files Before Installing the Beta
Before installing the Beta, backup your files using these steps:

1. Go to “…\Electronic Arts”.
2. Right click the “Battlefield 2142” folder and choose “Copy” .
3. Right click anywhere away from this folder and choose “Paste”.
4. Once the copy has completed, you will have two folders named “Battlefield 2142” and “Copy of Battlefield 2142”.
5. Install the update 1.10 beta, then start the game as normal.

When you wish to switch back to the release version of BF2142 (after Beta), use the following steps:

1. Go to “…\Electronic Arts” .
2. Right click the “ Battlefield 2142” folder and choose “Rename”.
3. Rename the folder to something like “Battlefield 2142 Beta” .
4. Right click the “Copy of Battlefield 2142” folder.
5. Rename the folder the “ Battlefield 2142”.
6. Start the game as normal.

The shortcut will run BF2142.exe from whichever folder is named “ Battlefield 2142” and both installations share the same registry entries.

Using the above steps will negate the need to completely uninstall and re-install whenever you wish to switch from the retail version to the beta version and vice versa.

Feedback and Bug/Issue Reporting
Use the appropriate threads in this section of EA forums to provide your feedback on the 1.1 Update. Do not contact Customer Service. Customer Service will not provide support for any Update Beta issues except through the appropriate forums/threads. Please note that inappropriate posts will be hidden, and posts that do not belong in this section will be moved. Do not post Beta issues and feedback outside of this section; the Beta section posts are the only posts that will be monitored, reported to DICE, and considered for improving the final 1.10 update release.

Ready for duty? All the information you need to get started is included below.

Where can I get the Beta 1.1 Update?

Which servers will be running the Beta version?
There are Ranked and Unranked servers running the Beta version of the game. Expect more servers to be available as the Beta continues thanks to our affiliated RSPs.

What does the Beta 1.1 Update change?
-Fix for resupply exploits on unlimited ammo weapons and vehicles.
-Players may no longer move inside of the cargo bay crates on titans using the sentry drone
-Demo packs will no longer drop through first section of the 3rd and 4th upper hallways of both titans
-Away bonus is now properly calculated with in-game promotions
-Ranks and current score should now be displayed correct.
-Duty ribbons will no longer be awarded before the needed criteria have been met
- Stats related to commander score will no longer be randomly reset to zero
-Unable to tab to password field when using a dedicated server
- Slowed down the speed that the news ticker cycles through messages
-Fixed the issue that causes the highlighted section of the server to be shortened when looking at server information
-Fixed the server browser issue that caused multiple menus to scroll at the same time.
-EMP effect on gun ships is reduced by 1 second to allow gun ships more survivability.
-Tuned the SL assault drone to allow for quicker target acquisition.
-Tweaked pistols: increased ROF clamp values, slightly redused damage fall off over range
-Tweaked up the damage of the HMG rounds to counter its lower rpm
-Increased the entry radius points for all vehicles
-Removed unused range finder setting from EU walker, titan guns to fix the APC/railgun/FAV draw out bug
-Fix for latency and TV guided missiles: Lowered the acceleration on the missile and fixed firing lag
- Active cammo will no longer incorrectly offset textures
- Punkbuster: Change default server port to 17567
-PAC titan corridor-3 exploit: Moved player collision to stop this
-PunkBuster: Update to most current PB client files
-Reserved Slot Enhancement: Reserved slot servers will now allow the full number of player slots to be used by non-RS list players. When a reserved slot player joins the last player to join the server will be kicked.
-Added unlock control to unranked servers
-Tier-1 Unlocks: All first tier unlocks can now be made available regardless of player rank on unranked servers
-Tier restriction control: Admins on unranked servers may now select which unlock tiers are available for use on the server. Please note that this setting does not grant access to unlocks that a player has not earned through ranked play.
-Unranked Spectator Functionality: Added spectator player slots to unranked servers. Players may join a server as a spectator. Please note that spectator players will need to exit the server and rejoin as a player in order to join a team.
- Added client functions to help reduce persistent Master Server Disconnects
-New client login procedure to reduce persistent disconnects by the EA Master server. Please note that this measure will only initiate after the first disconnect occurs. Due to dependencies of the Master server some players may still experience server related disconnects.

----------------------------------

Remember that constructive information will impact the final update and allow you to contribute to a better Battlefield experience. We are very eager to recieve your Beta feedback on the forums!

See you on the Beta battlefield!

Beta Testing for the Battlefield 2142 1.10 update begins.

Greetings,

We continue our march into the Christmas holiday with more and more happening in the Battlefield Universe. This week we will begin public Beta Testing of the 1.10 update. In this update we are adding server options and a few game play enhancements along with a number of bug fixes. Some of these improvements are:

Fixed Titan wall exploit - Players will no longer be able to exploit into the corridor wall to unfairly defend their titan.

Spectator Functionality - Players will be able to join a server as a spectator.

Active Camouflage Update: A bug that caused camouflaged players in medium to long range situations to be more visible than originally intended has been fixed. The IT-33 now functions as it did in the Public Beta. Thanks to former Beta Testers who helped to track down this issue.

Takao T20 and P33 Pereira Pistols: The maximum rate of fire has been increased on both the EU and PAC pistols. The pistol bullets' damage over distance has also been tweaked to allow for a slightly larger ideal range. Players should find the handgun's effectiveness as a close range panic weapon to be greatly improved.

Master Server Disconnects: We are adding client side enhancements to eliminate Master Server Disconnect Issues.

And much more!

-Your DICE Live Team

The Titan exploit should have been fixed with the last patch, I'm quite surprised the EA didn't even bother with it.

I still haven't played it because it was HORRABLE with errors. I felt that I was playing a beta game. The ads I see it as a money maker to fix issues that should of been fixed with the beta release OF 2142. For that reason I vote no its not adding new content new maps more rides(Jets for one). There is also still holes inside of BF2 which makes me a little sad inside.

actually new content it supposly coming....;)

http://www.game-monitor.com/GameServer/159.153.157.176:16567/EAUK_Playtest.html

There has been rumor around these forums as well as other fan sites of new content on one of the DICE private servers. Rumor or truth? You tell us.

Here is what is being discussed:
• The game version being displayed is "1.07.26.0"
• The new map being played is titled "Garmisch_Partenkirchen". There is an area in southern Germany with this name so it could easily fit into BF2142's geographic area of play.
• The new game mode being played is titled "gpm_sl". Could this possibly mean supply line?

Update: Now another map is being tested, called "Karlbo". There is a town of the same name in Sweden.

also another map called "Haribo"...

Ad's will never be worth it when they still charge the same up-front price for the game.
