CompUSA and Microsoft have made a deal, and Microsoft is letting CompUSA sell copies of Windows Vista Business and Office 2007 exactly two months before other retailers get it on January 30th. CompUSA and Microsoft hope to target small businesses with this maneuver. Because small businesses usually buy a large amount of retail box Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft is letting small business customers order 5-installation licenses at CompUSA early. This is only for small business customers, and should let small businesses compete with bigger rivals who also already have Windows Vista. This is the first time Microsoft has let small businesses buy an operating system before the general public.

Just wondering how having Vista allows small businesses to compete. I dont exactly see Vista bringing any pioneering new feature that benefits businesses hugely. Is it just an attempt to sell more copies?

It seems that they are currently catering to small businesses.
This is just an effort to boosts sales with small businesses by trying to show them they care and giving them special priveledges.
