I have everything already so I just need to spend about$1300-1400 on 2 X1900 CFE and XTX's with an ASUS MoBo with a 975X chipset and I'm ready to go!(Just the processor isn't ready, I just have to wait until it comes out) I was so happy when I found out Conroe will be compatible with LGA 775 on 975X Chipset!

incorrectly read voltage. was actually in the 1.6xx range for the pi run at 3.9 and the 4 ghz suicide was at 1.565

yeah i have got to admit that it is impressive but i still cant see AMD just sitting idley by and letting intel take such a big leap forward esspecially since they have been the overclocking champ for soo freakin long! The technology is new and hopefully once both of the new processors are out well see some REAL world benchmarks.

These engineering samples Intel was kind enough to hand out reek of special binning. Until I see a retail Conroe VS a retail AMD2 I refuse to believe that all Conroe CPU's will clock like this. Intel will not sell a CPU cheap that will outclock it's best. That would be crazy and bad for profits. Since when is it not all about profits. Look for dissapointing results with retail Conroe's. I would be shocked if they were not.

There WERE talks about XDR sometime for AMD, but I lost track of it. AMD had sure better have something, because Nforce 590SLI Isn't going to keep the enthusiast crowd going for long, especially not when Conroe can complete SuperPI in 13 seconds.

The design of conroe is done in such a way that it executes code far more efficiently than anything AMD or current retail Intel cpu's are capable of, and it does'nt even have on-die memory controller !
Thats why the performance you see with A1 stepping is not suprising with me at all, B1 or B2 will be first retail chips and even better.
