Hey guys,

I got a i7 4790k with stock cooler and its running very hot. Im planning to buy a cooler as soon as possible and since Hyper 212 Evo and most of ~30-30€ coolers are not available in my country, i wanna get a cooler around 50€.
My Rig is:
CPU: Intel i7 4790k
Mb: Asus Z97-A
Ram: 2x4gb G.Skill TridentX
Case: Corsair Carbide 200R.

my available options right not are:

TR Macho HR-02
Scythe Asura
Scythe Mugen 4
Raijintek Ereboss

My first options are Asura-Mugen 4, because they're available within 1 day and doesnt look sto bulky as Macho and Ereboss.
Ereboss, Macho are available in a lil bit lower price but looks so bulky and my case isn't the best.

Macho gets my vote. Great tower coolers, and bent nicely to avoid coming into contact with any RAM sinks. Can also be run as a passive cooler.

not sure about the other heat sinks, but the Mugen 4 on a Phenom II six core never got above 35' Celsius at full load number crunching(check pics on 2nd page of the thread I linked)

Im not sure what Height my Case can support. Some sites list it as 160mm tall, while on Official Corsair's Site its up to 165mm...

What's the cpu voltage at in the bios? 1.25v by chance on auto? If so drop it to 1.20 for now and make sure its stable. That should lower temps till you get a good cooler

The TR macho gets my vote as it seems to be an excellent cooler from what I've seen.

Very big though so be warned.

Update on topic:
Got a Noctua NH-U12S

What's the cpu voltage at in the bios? 1.25v by chance on auto? If so drop it to 1.20 for now and make sure its stable. That should lower temps till you get a good cooler

1,276V under Load.
0,752V Idle
Sorry for silly question.. Is that safe?

Guys if you could enlighten me on another few stupid questions,

First, when i enabled XMP Profile to run my RAM on 2400MHz, it synced all Cores, so when i checked Ai Tweaker from Asus my CPU was overclocked about 4%.
I cant enable XMP without overclocking my cpu?

And secondly, i used Prime95 to check my temparatures, I let it run about 30s or 1 minute and my cores maximized to 4.0Ghz, shouldnt they be about 4.2Ghz bcs of Turbo?

Nope i didnt yet.

Anyway, temperatures with Noctua is awesome. Idle about 30c. At the same game, with stock cooler i reached about 67-70c and with Noctua 57 max.

I had problems to install the cooler, bcs i tighten the screws very much. So, yea i was about 15 minutes try to install the cooler with applied paste. Should i change the paste?

If the power is interrupted during a BIOS flash then yes. Your BIOS will not work. You will have to replace the chip
