Cooler for Ryzen 5 1600x

Hi Everyone
Does anyone have any suggestions for an air cooler for my AMD build. Wraith does the job but I would prefer a quiter, tower cooler for front to back airflow in my S340 case. I have a 212 LED without an AM4 bracket. Ram/GPU clearance is essential, not overclocking as I will run the CPU at stock frequency. I am leaning towards the MSI Core Frozr L but I am not sure if I will be able to mount a CM Jetflo on the bracket. Price is not a concern, only clearance and bracket being capable of mounting a Jetflo.

noctua nh-D15s if you have clearance, its offset for ram clearance iirc.

Thanks yeah Noctua is a brand Ive seen alot of. Unfortunately when I said price is not a concern, I should have said price isnt a concern if the product is stocked locally. As far as I am aware Noctua has no local supplier, shipping is very steeply priced.

You shouldnt have any issue with clearance anyway as your ram doesnt have any heatsinks on it by the looks of it from your pic, and shouldnt most coolers be able to accomodate your cm jetflo's as it's a standard 120mm fan layout?

Yes they dont have heatsinks, thanks my only concern is the shape of the fan and the bracket that comes with cooler.

Shape of the fan doesnt matter as long as the holes are spaced the correct way for all 120mm fans (which they are), failing that cable ties are great when you're in a pickle but I dont foresee any issues with either you mentioned, take your max comfortable budget and look at some reviews then go for what you like the look of, can afford and has good performance. I thought the wraith cooler was pretty decent for a stock one though aftermarket is definitely better. Strange no one stocks Noctua in SA

Thanks ndmk2o10 and tigger. I am willing to spend any amount, I just dont want to get ripped off with shipping fees. E.g see below the shipping fee is almost as much as the product itself. Im actually pretty keen on the Noctua, ill look around for cheaper shipping. Is there a model with 12cm fans instead or will those heatsinks fit 12cm fans?

I think the actual hole placements on those 140mm noctua fans might be 120mm (just guessing by looking at the placements) so you may be ok with your CM fans, though if you're spending that kind of money on a HSF why are you not going to use the included fans which should be as good if not better as your current jetflo's and like I said, cable ties, elastic bands etc can do the same exact thing, maybe not as pretty but still as functional

If you do, depending on which cooler it is, you may be in luck because Noctua ships AM4 mounting kits free of charge.

Assuming the cooler is compatible with the AM4 mounting kit (not all are), all you have to do is show proof you have the old Noctua cooler + either CPU or board.

I did this myself with my discontinued Noctua NH-C14 and they sent me a mounting kit free of charge.

Yeah thats very true and solid advice in general as I will be running stock speeds and my temps are pretty low. The reason why i'm going to most likely buy the Noctua is becuase people are always saying its the best air cooler. I dont trust AIO's, specifically the pump. Lastly, and the main reason im going to fork out for a cooler I dont need, is that I saved enough for a 2080TI but GTA VI is still not released so I have some spare cash.

Ah i see @tigger you specifically mentioned the D15S which does fit my case , I got carried away for a moment, but I will go for the D15S with a single fan. Amazon is reasonable enough. Thanks once again everyone.

Check out a Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power.. Better than Le Grand Macho RT which is as good, or better than a D15, and its 30 bucks cheaper at 50 beans. You can take that 30 dollar savings and put it towards a TY-143 fan.. It has the same sound signature as the TY-147A up until about 1500rpm. It winds up to 2500rpm for 130cfm. The cooler is a bit tall, check your case dimensions.

For 50 bucks, you really cant go wrong. Worst case scenario you sell it on a forum or something and get your 50 back.

That model is the "Direct" and I wouldn't buy it either. TPU hasn't reviewed the "Power" model. There are a few major differences.

This is the most recent one and also the most expensive. I'd suggest instead the NH-U12S instead for similar performance on all metrics but substantially cheaper.

Thanks for all the posts guys. Will definitely consider the U12A/U12S as well. I Will never mention that price isnt a concern again. I am willing to spend a maximum of $342 (5000 rand). i just figured its alot for an air cooler. I do plan to use the cooler to OC in the future but not anytime soon.
Edit: I know that this sounds nothing like my original post, I guess I must just man up and admit that I've always wanted a Noctua cooler.
