That sounds like a kitchen gadget that chops, slices and dices.

I reread the press release again and just figured out what BassFX does. It looks like it simply takes an Open back design and adds a plate to make it Semi Open. I say semi open as I can't see them converting to closed back because it would completely color the sound in most likely uncorrectable ways.

Been spending the last couple hours listening to various pieces of music (FLAC) with the Masterpulse. Quite frankly to call them muddy is doing a disservice to all headphones that are muddy. Bass is so over emphasized that it makes it almost impossible to listen to them for anything longer than a short session. That might work for gaming, but it is very hard to listen to these for any length of time. Bass does tighten up some, still not enough, if you leave the covers in place. With the Bass FX off there is no "crystal clear, balanced listening experience." It is so bass heavy that even at moderate levels you are overwhelmed by the low end, and not sharp or clear either. This is exactly the opposite effect that Cooler Master is advertising for these headsets. The top end is muted and at lower volumes some instruments within the soundstage are barely audible. I will not comment on build quality because in my personal opinion no amount of aesthetics or any level of build quality can substitute for bad sound, and these just sound bad.

If you insist on still putting these on your wish list, then maybe continue reading...

I can say that for people with a med/large head the fit is actually pretty good, I did not notice any discomfort even into the second hour of wearing them. The way the top cushion is mounted makes the frame suspend over your head and there is noticeable pressure on the sides of your head but not overly so. It would not have mattered if the top cushion were 5 sections or one section as it has no overall effect on comfort.

The volume control is convenient as does not appear to add any color to the sound as you travel from no volume to full volume. I did not test the microphone as it is of no interest to me. The cord is really a tangle free flat cord. and the adapter to use with a PC works as it should.

Any review that you will read about these will probably parrot the 2 channel Surround Sound (this is not really a thing). If they do repeat that line you might as well stop reading because I will tell you right now they will give this headphone glowing reviews and a buy recommendation. I cannot in all fairness agree with any of those sentiments, these are not any better than all the other cheap pairs of headphones you could pick up from the big blue box store.

I guess if you use it simply for gaming and do not concern yourself too much with sound fidelity and need the microphone then these will probably be on your list. Before you buy just know this there are much better options out there.

I had picked up a headset (6ish years back) that had RGB LED illumination on the earcups. My daughter (2 years old at the time) thought it was cool to watch as they changed color when they pulsed with the sounds. I could turn them off and usually had them off unless my daughter was up and I was gaming. The headset worked great - really good bass and decent mid and high end. Otherwise the LEDs were kind of pointless, I can't see it while I'm wearing them.

Sadly, the long (horribly long, even when bundled/tied up) cable on the headset got caught under a wheel on my desk chair and my daughter panicked and yanked the headset - ripping the wiring right out of the headset. I had to toss them...Pulsewave (I think) was the headset model. It did well for only costing me around $40 (a lot better than any Turtle Beach crap that I tried).

If I wasn't satisfied with my Logitech G35 that I've had for years for my casual online gaming needs, I'd be interested in getting my hands on these to see how they fared.
