Cooler Master Follows Up with HAF-912 Plus Case

Quickly following up with the release of HAF 912, Cooler Master rolled out the HAF 912 Plus, an upscale variant of the HAF 912 with more features for a small premium. The case is has the same exact dimensions: 30 x 480 x 496 mm, weighs 8 kg, every feature of the HAF 912, except that it includes an eSATA port on the front-panel, has a largely tool-free design comprising of tumbscrews, all-black interiors, a red LED-lit 200 mm front fan, and a top 200 mm fan. The base model has two 120 mm fans and no fan on the top (with just the room to install one). The expansion slot covers are perforated for more ventilation. The Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus is available now, priced at $79, close to $20 over the base model.

Hey B, might want to check those dimensions again other wise this "up scale" 912 lost 200mm of width and has to be the skinniest case around at only 30 mils. :laugh:

IMO the basic version should, come painted black on the inside anyway, but 20 dollars for a windowed version is not that bad. Considering it would cost more than that to buy a window and put it in yourself.

Cooler Master Launches HAF X Case

As I said back then not everyone wished to have the monolith on or around their desk. Kudos to Cooler Master for finally not only making a smaller version of their HAF series but one at a rather nice price. Hopefully they will also introduce a windowed side panel like they have done on previous models and offer them as an upgrade thru their store for early adopters.

So, when can we expect a TPU review of one of these?

Must have failed to refresh when I posted my reply that looks really nice! I really hope 'tho as I said above that they'll offer the side panel to early adopters who can't wait for that version to be released.

I have to agree with you on that one in that I'd much rather go for the cheaper $59 model since the all-black interior and window really is not worth it. Besides, chances are Cooler Master may even offer the window side panel via their store sometime later or maybe someone here would trade theirs for the non-windowed one.

Of course, and this is just me wishing here, I'd not mind having a windowed side panel like the limited edition AMD Sniper one with the dragon. :rockout:

If it were me I may very well go with that 912 Plus case. I really love my CoolerMaster HAF 922 but if I was doing it allover again, having a smaller case with a nice window and the same accents could look really great. I'm sure there will be a deal right around the corner that will reduce the $20 difference, but honestly even at 79.99 that is a great case IMO.

BTW, fired off an email via Cooler Master's webpage for the HAF 912 and got the following:

1. Can you mount the hard drives so that the rear portion where the data/power cables are located faces towards the rear away from the vented side panel?

Yes.

2. Will it be possible to get the rubber feet that are on the other HAF cases via the Cooler Master store to replace the hard plastic feet?
We do not provide modification advice so the answer is undetermined.

3. Does the height measurement take into account the highest point on the case (read: the hump where the USB and audio connectors are located)?

The height is at the highest point.

4. Will a windowed side panel upgrade be offered thru the Cooler Master store?

It is possible please contact the CM Store

Imo it would still be not only easier and cheaper to just pay the 20 dollars extra and buy the plus version, as upgrading the window will cost at least that much, also 15 dollars at least for some paint to black out the inside and re-rivet.
