So I have my new build set up and I have a few questions,

I have a Corsair 750 D, two stock front SP140L and one rear 140L, A Corsair H100i in Push/Pull exhausting at the top with 4x SP120's (performance)

firstly due to the lovely hot spell we're having the room temp is around 30c and mobo temp at around 33-34c my CPU (4790k Oc to 4.6Ghz) is idling around 39-44c when playing videos etc (running two minotors on onboard IGPU (Card is away RMA)

I think that's okay. and not too worried about it. The questions I have though are as follows

  • Aida & Corsair Link report a CPU temp of 39-40c when Idle but Asus AI Suite reports a temp several degrees lower. (which is correct, I am assuming the one reported by 2 is correct not the AI suite and I know AI suite was dodgy with my old Phenom II x6
  • My stock case fans (SP140L's) seem to spin really low, max RPM I can get is around 1100RPM. Is this correct? My 120s are pushing over double that.
  • When I have any sort of load it is pushing to 50c plus. I tried Prime95 but it didn't seem to be stressing all my cores that much (according to Aida) but I am trying IntelBurnTest too....

Any suggestions or is it all okay?

fuck fuck fuck.... Intel burn test according to Aida just pushed it to 96c

This is weird, using Real temp I monitored it all, and got weird readings,

One second it was 60-65c under 100% load, then it SHOT straight to 90 for a few seconds, shot back down and then shot up again,

Video showing fluctuations.

Okay, ran back to 4.4Ghz and got a max of 80c but averaged 75c during Intel burn test.

AI suite CPU temp is actually the temperature of a sensor that's somewhere around the CPU area or under the CPU.

Other programs like real temp read straight from the sensors that are in each intel CPU core (that's why you get 4 values).

So its normal for AI suite to report a lower value than real temp for example.

And that temp spike isn't normal. I think your cooler may not be working correctly.

This is the CPU under load

And when I stopped the test.

just tried OCCT

looks like a problem with Intel burn Test?

I would check the rev's of the H100 fans. Those are the most close to the heatsource. During hot months I set all fans (CPU, case and GPU) to start rising earlier in AI suite/Afterburner.
I get temps in the high 70's with Aida stress test and your tests are harder (here a 3770K at 4400Mhz/1,25v)

Yeah, but it looks like it is intel burn Test, both OCCT and Prime95 work fine, low 60's on the temps on prolonged runs.

IBT is known for producing way higher temps than anything else.
