There are plenty of cube cases out there, but many lack real innovation. Cooltek aims to take cube gaming enclosures to the next level with the W1. Featuring a smart combination of aluminum and steel and a choice between a windowed or solid side panel.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
not bad, well i can define it as a 2 floor Node 304, with the benefit of a 140mm front instead of 2x92mm and a ODD slot, but a bit less capable on the storage (4 VS 6 3.5" well the W1 has 2 2.5" which compensate this and the Node 304 is limited to 4 when you use a long GPU whereas the W1 is not) the turn off point : the price range seems to be kinda higher than the Node 304.

An mITX case with twin 140mm fans plus room for two more 140mm units? Kudos to Cooltek, who unlike much larger case manufacturers, seem to understand that people who want a small system don't want to have to deal with noise or poor cooling potential.

Speaking of which - Darksaber, I would really like to see TPU performing noise level and temperature tests on the chassis you review. Especially when, like the W1, they're at the far end of the spectrum (really small or really big).

"not bad" , but this case volume is 32 liters and that is bigger than some decent mATX cases - Fractal Design core 1000 (26liters); Silverstone Sugo SG09 and SG10 (22liters), wich also are capable of Towr CPU coolers, any PSU, any GPU (and even 2 GPU's), few 3,5's and mATX or mITX board of your choice... so I do not understand to restrict your self to mITX if the case is even bigger than mATX o_O

Hi techy1,

you are not the first to ask about this. First and foremost, you will buy a chassis tailored to your needs. In reality, if a chassis ends up cooling components 2-3° cooler makes no real world difference. On top of that, depending on the type of coolers you use (liquid, top blow, tower) or what type of cooling your GPU has (radial fan, dual fans, triple fans and so on), the results differ vastly, so that one case could be great for a user with a tower cooler and radial cooler on the GPU, but perform bad on a top blow and triple fan GPU variant.

Too many variables to honestly say if a chassis is better than another in terms of cooling.

In terms of noise: The only thing one could test is sound encapsulation, as different components means different sounds once again. (how loud are the components and fans in the open compared to within the system). Problem is, that my living room = my testbench. It will never be equally quiet for each review either.

Also, usually quiet means less cooling perf.

In the end real world experience is what counts - that is what we go for in a chassis. 50-60 pictures and full assembly :)

This is mainly an aluminum case, not a fair comparison against the Node 304. Compare it to Lian Li's instead... Jonsbo is slightly cheaper... I just got myself a U1 and am pretty happy with it. No Lian Li's come close to it with respect to the price.

yet the Node 304 still look better even with a thin brushed aluminum plate on plastic ... as a front, all aluminum construction = high price is justified... well not for me :D
but that only imho and i find it fair.
