Hey there.

I'm finishing off a build & considering the above-mentioned case & 120mm fans.

Planning to move the included front Corsair 120mm fan to the top as an exhaust & then slotting the 3 x CF120 fans in the front.

I notice RGB isn't popular among many here & it wasn't really with me either, but it's my first build in 10 years & I wanted the option to try some subtle ambient lighting in a PC (seems cool for a first timer, but if I get tired of it, I can just turn it off in in Gigabyte's RGB Fusion software...)...

So for a value option, with decent airflow & bearable noise levels, would these DeepCool CF120 fans be ok, or would you recommend any others.
(I'd prefer if they were supported by RGB Fusion, as I don't want to control things via the included remote).

Thanks.

RGB issues & case choices aside, I prefer that all of my fans are from the same mfgr and specs. I would recommend you get enough so that you can put 3 in the top, 3 in front, and 1 in the back. Yes I know this will cost you moar $$, but in the end you will be happier from both cooling capability, compatibility & noise standpoints, as well as not having to fiddle with trying to match different speed curves because of the variances from one brand to the other.

As for which fans to get... well that's a $64MM question, and you will probably get about that many recommendations too :) But rest easy, as most mainstream brands nowadays are pretty reliable and quiet, with many options at just about every price point. I've used about 20 different brands over the years and each has had it's own pluses & minuses... Currently I have a total of 11 Corsair AF-140's in my rig, 8 Noctua's in my son's rig, and 6 BeQuiet's in my daughter's, neveranotta problemo...

I strongly recommend narrowing your choices down to 3 or 4 brands, then study several reviews/test reports that you can find on each one and decide from there. As usual, YMMV and these statements are IMHO only...

Good luck with your build :D

Thank you, bonehead! I‘ve also tried to track down which fans are included in the Corsair 4000D, but I don’t think they sell them separately. Managed to find a couple on eBay, but their sale had ended.

I get the theory of how the same fans should be used, so if I were to go this route, which Corsair fans would be the equivalent?…there are so many out there!

Edit...
Oh I remembered that the reason (shame) i'm steering clear of Corsair fans is that Gigabyte's RGB Fusion software doesn't support them, so i'll be forced to run more cabling & use Corsair's RGB remote to tinker with them......I know....lol.

Well, since I have a very large ATX tower (TT900) with an AIO cooler and lots of room for massive airflow, I use the Corsair AF-140's. I'm not that concerned with overall noise, since it has glass panels and all my fans are mounted on rubber bushings...

HHowever, if you can't use Corsair's, then my next recommendation would be the noctua's. I dont recall which model I have atm, but they are also high airflow units that strike a very good balance between noise & airflow.

I'm sure other members will chime in with their personal favorites too :)

Also, you could look in the "Overclocking & Cooling" subforum for discussions/recommendations on fans, and in the help threads for Shannon, a rep with BeQuite :)

Unfortunately most of the good fan reviewers have gone defunct in the past few years, so it’s hard to say which RGB fans are the best performers.

I’d recommend the Arctic P12 ARGB, since they are based on the well reviewed P12. Too bad Noctua/BeQuiet/Phanteks et al haven’t put out ARGB fans.

Yeah I hear they’re the best brands. Unfortunately, neither of them work straight off Gigabyte motherboard, & I’m hoping to use RGB Fusion for all the ambient lighting I aim to demo (& turn off if they don’t live up to expectations). I’m also looking for the best bang for buck performing RGB case fans, for now anyway, as I’m not an ultra heavy overclocker seeing as my parts are new.

Thanks bonehead. Good to have a BeQuiet rep here. Could come in handy

Ohh they come in ARGB now? They’re also a model I hear mentioned a lot. Pity I can’t get them in a 3-pack locally - they’d cost a bit to import as a pack. Maybe an upgrade option in future. Thanks for the tip!

Dont put much stock when you see someone hating on RGB, its more of a joke/teasing than actual hate.

With that I'll just say #sayNO2rgb :p

I've found them!

Decent performing, low noise (at typical fan speeds) & subtle ARGB rings (brightness controllable via both the wireless controller or mobo software). Plus, they connect with minimal cabling. Very clever design that Lian Li also use & many others should follow.

I should be getting them once on sale, although their current price isn't bad.

Please enlighten me, wth is that frazzelled mess ? Looks pretty flaky to me, surely this is not what you are calling a "clever design" :D

that connector itself is not a new design.

The modular side of things seems like a cleaner option than the clutter you get with individual cables going into both a PWM Hub & ARGB Hub. This is all new to me so comparing Arctic’s system to most of the others out there seemed like a tidier solution.
that connector itself is not a new design.
Yeah as mentioned, Lian Li has a set out with similar modular connectivity. There are probably more, but I just haven’t come across them.
