Simply put, the Corsair AX1600i is the best PSU money can buy today. Because of its huge capacity and price tag, it only addresses a small portion of users; those only satisfied with having the best of the best.

Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) stands for the electromagnetic energy a device emits, and it can cause problems in other close-by devices if too high. In the AX1600i isn't that high though.

@crmaris
Nothing beats a PSU review from Aris placed on TechPowerUp, thx :D

Found a tiny mistake.

1400-1600 RPM has the wrong color, should be magenta instead of cyan. ;)

thank you guys!

@Mask: It is just the legend. The 1200-1400 is hidden.

I have to say that when i saw the outside-looks of the AX 1600i , -which is similar to the RMi/RMx series (OEM is CWT for these series)- , my first thoughts were if Corsair decided to replace Flextronics with CWT for its AXi series as well.
But no, as Aris mentioned at his excellent review, it was a Flextronics-based platform after all !! :)
( Personally, i liked it better when the AXi series used to have their own distinct looks )

What reviews say, is it so dominative compare to Seasonic and SuperFlower Titanium?
I'm very sad because Flextronics didn't build 1KW model with best parts and quality and reviews to give him same score as 1500/1600W model.
Than I would probably tried that model now and for sure as next PSU.

But because CORSAIR make 750-850W models without cooperation with first 2-3 PSU manufacturer, they are recognized as saving cost on PSU parts long time ago even on best models they are not on my list when I search PSU.
I remind not to launch 1000W with Flextronics and than we to read 9.5 score, Luxon capacitors on not important place, and noticable difference in quality between 1500-1600W models. If they could launch 1600W with great quality than 1000W could only be better and easier.
But that will not happen and I will stay with P2 and T2.

Only clean 1000W Flextronics, or 1050 or 1020 never mind, not bigger and after same reviews as 1600i could force and me and many other people to choose that model.
Flextronics made only 1200, 1200i, 1500i and now 1600i. If 1000i show up same quality as last two models than CORSAIR will be my next PSU. Now what I read that they chance very important things in new batches of well known model and customers get something completely different than reviews.

Only thing I know, and now one can explain me that's not true...
AX1200 was King for that time. AX1200i is excellent but with flaws, different parts than advertised, different performance and disappointment.
Than AX1500i is something completely different, reliable, no many complains rattle noises, coil whine, die, etc...
Now probably will 1600i will be same I expect maybe improvements some. No reason to avoid 1000W model.
Customers would pay him 50$ more than others, If Seasonic cost 270$, they could sell for 300-320$.

Because this is absurd.... Not only 1600W, I would not complain to put 2000W, but PSU Case is huge.
1000W could be 2/3 of 1600W size. For me that's more important, I have no problem to install 3000W if he cost 250-300$.
Better for me, that' same as Fanless model. You have fan but he never work.

What a superb PSU and a great review. I want the best PSU, regardless of it being a completely over the top 1600W and have just pulled the trigger on it at Amazon. Alas, it's out of stock everywhere, including Amazon, so I suspect that it may have been discontinued and hence my purchase will come to nothing. All I can do now is wait.

My current PSU is the superb Corsair HX850 v1 which also had a stunning review in 2009, when I bought it and has surpassed its hype. It's still running like new, too and will go into my second rig if and when I can actually buy the AX1600i.
