i use 2 fans atm on my Corsair H100 watercooling system is there a way to make them a little quieter?

i don't think i can use the L.N.A. (Low-Noise Adaptor) that came with the fans right?
bcs i don't think the pump can handle that, but use the pump can't control the fan speed but run them as fast as possible it could be nice to have a way to limit the speed and noise when is idling.

I cant see the LNA being an issue to be honest.

hmm i dunno if the pump can handle the L.N.A. from Noctua, and i don't wanna blow it up trying ^^;

the LNA is a resister that limits the voltage from 12V to like 7.5V. It doesn't effect CPU fan headers, so I assume it wouldn't effect those!

thx sneekypeet, i just wanna be sure, bcs the H100 is not a cheap cooling solution to buy and the H100i is even more expensive @.@

Using the resistors to run the fans on 7V is perfectly fine. In fact I am using 4x corsair SP120 fans on my H100 with the resistors for the past month. You will also notice that when the fans work with the resistors, changing the fan speed setting on the H100 block actually DOES increase/decrease the speed of a 3-pin fan! (probably because the fans are then more sensible to current or voltage change?)

I know. Just arguing that bias plays a role in the Moderators corner.

I have two Corsair SP 120 Performance Series fans on top of my case ( in "pull" for my H100) that were making an annoying "growl" noise when they were hooked up to the H100's fan ports, but much quieter now even at top speed since I hooked them to my Sentry Mesh fan controller. Possibly a firmware issue similar to the H100i pump noise, although without Corsair Link it can't be updated. Try hooking them to the CPU fan header on the motherboard and see if they run quieter (and plug the H100 pump into an aux fan header). Most boards will let you set up a fan profile for the CPU.

AFAIK, you don't actually have to plug the fans into the pump. The last time I installed a H100 and used aftermarket fans I bought a PWM fan splitter and plugged both fans into the CPU fan header on the motherboard. That way the standard fan speed control built into the motherboard controlled the fans for me. If the CPU got hotter it would automatically ramp the fans up on the H100, when it cooled down the fans would slow down.

oki now i connected both fans with L.N.A. they r so silent and idle temps r the same as before ^^

but i also use the extension cable so it's safe to use that plus L.N.A. right?

bcs the original Noctua extension cable only extend nuth more.
