well airflow and all setup seems to be correct! so maybe a wrong seat of the cooler? cause temps should be lower...

tbh
when in the idle mode the temp still between 20-29
and when i start compressing it jumps to 60 in less than one second
and keeps going up till reach 75

what is freaking me out
why is it jumps to a high temp so quick like that

As a person that's also a long time user of AS5 (10 years) here are my reasons for switching, for what it's worth..
1. Burn in time is looong
2. Not leading performer in 2016
3. Messy
4. Conductive

My system is set up to operate in relative silence, so that means I needed to keep the CPU cool whilst not making a racket. My radiator fans idle at 840rpm with CPU temps in the low 20s and barely speed up under load to around 1200rpm. They only spin up fully when CPU exceeds 72C for example, which means the loudest component is my GTX fans which switch on when gaming and max out at 2000rpm(80%) but are still whisper quiet.

I'd also recommend a positive air pressure setup, i.e. having more air entering the case than exiting, which helps prevent dust from building up and keep components relatively cool. The only exhaust fans I have in my system are PSU (which I think never turns on) and cooler radiator fans.

Personally I can't speak for it being messy to you or how it being capacitive has ever affected you negatively but I suppose that's besides the point, since originally your claim was that arctic silver five shouldn't be used with water cooled systems. I'd like to hear you back that claim up please , of course when I say back up I mean sources not personal experience...im genuinely curious if your just sharing what YOU think is a fact, or if You read that somewhere, and has been proven. thanks

thank u
well this isn't my case

here's mine

and this is how i set the airflow system

fan next to psu is 140mm intake
fan on side door 140mm intake
fan infront of hdd 120mm and for sure it's intake
back panel fan is for exhaust
two fans on top panel also for exhaust

and this is the front panel
i've removed the front face to show u how i've placed the radiator

and the cooler has two fans
push and pull system
airflow to inside the case

Looks like you have good air flow setup. The fact is, the H75/H60/H50 are just bottom level AIO coolers. They'd be great for maybe something such as a HTPC. They won't do as good as most decent air coolers.

Exception would be is if your case had poor air flow (which doesn't appear to the be case with yours) and a large air cooler was being choked by hot air that can't escape the case well enough. My old CoolerMaster Cosmos 1000 was a monster of a case, but the air flow in it sucked. The Hyper 212+ I was using was limited by what it could do for my Phenom II x4 940. Highest OC I got with the 212+ was 3.6GHz.

I picked up a H50 when it was on sale for $30 at my local Best Buy (normally sold for $60) and I tried it out. I had a push/pull setup on it and she kept my CPU cooler by almost 5C. I was able to hit 3.7GHz at a lower voltage and run loaded temps under the thermal threshold.

Both coolers had AS5 on them and I used the 212+ for about a year before I got the H50. I used the H50 for a while (4 years) and she had no issues. I now have an i5-4670k with a H100i and I used AS5. I have her running at 4.4 and she doesn't break 70C. I've used AS5 on any build I've done and when re-pasting GPUs. I haven't come into any issues with it.

You'd probably get much better results with something like the H100/110 and mounting it to the top, but it depends on if you have the room for one there. My Fractal Design Arc XL case, I've removed the HDD cages (mounted the HDDs in the 5.25" bays) and have two front intake fans, one bottom intake, one rear exhaust and my H100i is mounted to the top with push only setup.

and no
i don't have any space for 240mm
may it appears that there is but actually doesn't fit

Are you using Corsair link or how are you controlling your pump speed? I have mine only plugged into power, not into a fan header and it runs at full speed all the time and is also not changing speed. When I had the corsair link attached, it would make an audible whining noise when pumping.

AS5 has been @ or near the TOP of the "hill" of thermal pastes for a very long time
actually has been f*cked by arctic MX 4 and Thermal Grizzly just to name a few, arctic silver 5 its conductive, also if you leave the tube somewhere else it will divide its composition... its a pretty weird paste with a toooooo long "Bed -in" period...

As a person that's also a long time user of AS5 (10 years) here are my reasons for switching, for what it's worth..

great points indeed

the only down side someone could bring up is that AS5 is capacitive , but unless you intend to paint your motherboard life a buffoon with it, or are negligent , its a moot point. also, arguing over 3C up or down is dumb.
this is great tooo

consider that you also have a low end water cooler, how many fans do you have with it? just the original one it comes with ? or do you also added one moar for a push/pull winner configuration ?

A decent air cooler will still outperform a 120mm rad aio watercooler most of the time with the fan ramped up

Op's Frio was running at 2400rpm

I found a h75 to be only slightly better than a 212evo with its stock fan, but the evo outperformed it with faster fans, i actually used 1 of the h75's 2000rpm fans and it was 4c cooler, and 6c cooler with both (at same fan speeds)

i don't think that i can control pump speed
it's not available in the link App

Does it go back down just as fast? Once you stop compressing, does it jump back to the 30s and below? I have found that the easiest way to test a cooler is to see how quickly it returns to low temperatures.

not aways, my friend, i have a 50mm thick rad 120mm aio watercooler that keeps a delidded i7 3770 at 30c idle, and 55max on heavy loads... some times i try crazy settings on memory and BCKL
Pump and radiator are important, so are Fans,

What voltage, ambient temps, what 'heavy load'?

voltage: 1.15v. 1.25v range.

Temps:

loads:
valley bench, fire-strike, for testing changes over memory, fan setup, re-pastes, thermal pads or anything im testing also designing or replacing old stuff, and for sure while gaming too, those are the max loads my computers gets,

Excellent voltages.

Ambients look quite reasonable.

However, those are more GPU oriented benchmarks.

To truly test your CPU overclock and cooling: 20 passes Intel Burn Test at Maximum memory, 3 hours Prime95 small FFTs, or 3 hours LinX 0.7.0-2017 using all available memory and the latest LinPack binaries.

I am using Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut (liquid metal) between the heatspreader and die.

I am using Thermal Grizzly Kryonuat between the waterblock and heatspreader.

So far, I am pleased with the results; at idle, I am nearly at ambient, maybe +1° or 2°C (4864 MHz @ 1.390 VCore).

Personally I can't speak for it being messy to you or how it being capacitive has ever affected you negatively but I suppose that's besides the point, since originally your claim was that arctic silver five shouldn't be used with water cooled systems. I'd like to hear you back that claim up please , of course when I say back up I mean sources not personal experience...im genuinely curious if your just sharing what YOU think is a fact, or if You read that somewhere, and has been proven. thanks

Rather than reposting the same information, I'll just point to this post from 2010 which is still relevant. It's your choice whether you want to use AS5 or not, it does the job, just wanted to let you know about its limitations, which are definitely applicable to water block coolers, which don't rapidly cool their heatsinks, instead providing more of a constant temperature differential, similar to a slow blowing fan, meaning the cure time is even longer than a regular HS/fan combo.

Benchmark Scores well I've fried a 775' P4 12 years ago, that counts?
Thanks.

Excellent voltages.

Ambients look quite reasonable.

However, those are more GPU oriented benchmarks.

To truly test your CPU overclock and cooling: 20 passes Intel Burn Test at Maximum memory, 3 hours Prime95 small FFTs, or 3 hours LinX 0.7.0-2017 using all available memory and the latest LinPack binaries.
welcome sir, tests, benchs all that crappy stuff its made like once at year with every deep clean on all hardware parts! also thanks for the advise on the other tests / benchs, i hate prime95,

if i want to get a thermal paste
should i go for arctic or grizzly or any other brand of ur suggestions
i have been using Arctic MX4 on every CPU / GPU i own myself, also on my delidded processor i have used Coollaboratory liquid ultra on the CPU Die directly and Arctic MX4 on CPU IHS, i do own and have used Arctic Silver 5 which is a decent paste with an extended curing time, Coolermaster IceFusion which is the budget aste i have there for crappy works,
Thermal Grizzly has shown several good rates and results around people here, i havent used myself but have seen several posts with great numbers,

Watch this thread for moar information about thermal Pastes and applications!

Thermal paste applied on your GPU / CPU, survey!

Regards, !
