Corsair Vengance "normal" or "pro" for Haswell?

I just ordered the old good Corsair vengance (2x8gb 1600) for my new Haswell Mainboard. But I now i see there are new "pro" version which seems to be optimized for the Haswell generation.

The ones I ordered are in the compatibility list of the Mainboard (Gd65 MSI Gaming), the "pro" not.

Is it there a real difference or can I just relax and just use the "old" generation without any real disvantage? I may OC a bit in the Future, but I am not going extreme.

Thanks =)

waste of money for the pro's.

stick with the standard vengeance or go for some Kingston Hyper X Beast

DDR3 is DDR3, so long as voltage is 1.65v or 1.55v youre good to go.

I would assume the XMP settings have changed for Haswell, but without my board and proc arriving yet, I cannot boot my Vengeance Pro's yet to see for myself.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as you stay within voltage spec...I have ddr3 2000 from crucial and it's not on my memory support list. I have the mpower/4770k.

It'll work just fine, even when XMP is enabled, it will still set the appropriate values for what the RAM kit is rated for.
