HI guys,
looking for help to OC frequency and lower some latency. Corsair VENGEANCE 2 x 32GB DDR4 3200 B die 16 GB Micron. anything after 3400 it wont boot. Right now im running xmp profile 16-20-38 1.35 v @3400 mhz. would like to go to 3600-3800 and lower latency which right now is 63.

Ryzen 5 5600x 4.65ghz 1.25v
MSI B550I GAMING EDGE
Corsair VENGEANCE 2 x 32GB DDR4 @3400 mhz CMH64GX4M2E3200C16

It can't be Samsung B-Die and Micron. Which one is it?
Edit: It actually can't be Sam B-Die at all. They don't come in 4GB ICs. Since your having a hard time at 3400, its probably shit Samsung E or SK Hynix M-Die.

Loosen Cas latency to 18 and see if it will increase frequency.

Hi,
Post an image of the back of the sticks so we can see info and the VER# or just look and post it.

Hi,
If ver# is 4.?? it's a good kit
If the ver# is 3.?? it's crap don't bother.

Hi,
Don't bother
You're lucky they work at all on xmp.

Basically about all you can do is
Double eREFI in bios
Then drop eRFC by 100 until you can't post anymore then add 50 until you can post.
You're done.

Hi,
32gb sticks they were mean for work not play.
But those are the settings likely to get some more performance out of them
Let us know how it goes.

I wouldn't touch the other timings as you already tried and got nowhere.

I really don't think 16Gb Rev.B should be giving you this much trouble - bad bin or not (of which 3200CL16 is a garbage bin), it's Micron's best DDR4. 2x32GB is a lot for any other IC but for Rev.B it's still just dual rank, iirc there's no reason to suspect quad rank levels of UMC stress.

Timings look plenty loose, but your CLDOs are wack. Drop VDDP down to 0.9V, bring VDDG_IOD up to 1.05V. Though, I doubt it's what is preventing you from POSTing 3600.

Board should be fine as well, I had a B550I Gaming Edge MAX for a while, it's an 8-layer ITX with seemingly no big mem OC problems. Try some different BIOSes.

Can play with individual procODT options as well to see if they help you boot.

Double eREFI in bios

tREFI does not exist as a user-configurable timing in AM4

Aight thanks
It’s. MSI b550i Wi-Fi edge mini itx

Let me play around With it

Is it the original or the MAX? If it's the MAX you can try all the suggestions and spam the clear CMOS button on the I/O if it doesn't post, no risk. If it's the original you're kinda boned as there's no button and the clear CMOS pins are buried under the I/O shield lmao

What BIOS revision are you on right now? I was running v17 and that seemed fine with single rank B-die up to 4333CL16.

It’s the original
I have the latest version bios so power down for 5 seconds and press again
That’s what I have been doing cus the cmos is kind out of reach yea

If you have an old reset switch from any random case, pop that on the cmos terminals for remote clear cmos. Just an old timer trick, but it works

a bit harder to do when it's behind the rear I/O (JBAT)

MSI in later BIOSes added that 5 second power button hold functionality to do clear CMOS. Then just released a new board with a button lol because it was such a stupid design choice

Not impossible and you only have to do it once... if he had one lol.

I figure the design choice is because they figure it's a feature most people shouldn't need to use. Just my take on it. Honestly with modern hardware, you don't really need it.

3 failed attempts, on the 4th the board should post defaults. It just seems to take forever.....
