No, that's NOT what it says.

"Windows Vista Capable"

And no matter what 'issues' people may have, things ARE capable. Nowhere does it state it's going to be easy, hassle-free and work 100%; besides since every user is different, we cannot identify what exactly "easy" "hassle-free" and "100%" are. Yes, there is a standard, but obviously it's been met, because Vista does run..

Yeah, and my car is Race track Capable too. Because its labeled GT.

(1994 Escort GT. Far from being anything remotely race worthy, a similar situation).

Its like running windows XP on P2's.

Vista is advertised as "the wow starts now" whereas those users GETTING vista for their machine is going to be saying OW when they feel their wallet after installing it.

Its 100% deceptive marketing, unless you have a high end machine.

I'd actually blame it on those OEMs who overprice their systems by a HUGE amount... they cause the general consumer to have crapper hardware. See... even my old system with a 9550 and a Northwood ran vista without a problem. I dont see whats so "straining" about vista.

I blame wild Bill for allowing his marketing partners to build an inferior system and allowing them to install Vista on that crap machine. MS supplied the license to them, knowing who they are and what they will build to sell to the consumer. If wild Bill can't police his own product and his OEM partners, he deserves to be sued. :nutkick:

But alas, we pay for it in the end…higher prices. Why the hell can’t someone else make an OS gaming platform that will support the PC gaming industry is beyond me?
So I stay in the XP zone and sit here perplexed why all consumers do not stand united and force wild Bills hand and make him lower prices and requirements to operate a new OS.

Higher OS requirements + higher required hardware = empty pockets for the consumer. Pretty soon we will have people selling there families to be able to afford all these dam upgrades….:shadedshu

Well its all of their faults really. the OEMs for saying it and Microsoft for believing them and not checking. Its really a case of, well its not my fault, its just our certification based on OEMs hardware. In this instance, the hardware was reviewed by MS and was given the label. The capable and experience crap really isnt the issue. its says Windows VISTA READY! Meaning, its ready for windows vista. It doesnt say this version or that version. Your arguement is wrong <G> BUt I say it with a happy face, not being evil.

Unless it was built by MS (which I doubt they'd ever create a gamer-oriented OS), no one has the ballz to compete against their monopoly; it'd be a waste ot time, power and money for another company.

Unless you make a better product :)

A'la os x/Linux.

Both products are growing significantly faster than the market.

Funny thing is Bills not even running it anymore. Oddly I've noticed a big change for the worse (who'd a thunk it!).

MS should be held responsible for its crappy programming, driver supportability (industry wide problem shows more than just lax component/driver companies), and market strong arming (attempting to stop XP production just to get Vista out). If people are this stupid uneducated with computers to have to create a class action suite instead of not buying the product so be it.
If the "Windows Vista Capable" is the OEMs fault and not MS' (probably both, but still back to the we're selling Vista now not XP thing) then I'm sure those high paid lawyers are going to make sure the OEMs pay their share as well.

MS has been strong arming the industy (world?) for too long with no REAL competition (back to the stupid uneducated masses know nothing else).
