Even just a hole with a grill over it would be sufficient if you want to take the time and effort to do it.

Ill just cut a nice hole in top till i can get a case that isnt a piece of junk

not that you are a noob, but be sure to remove eveything before cutting said hole, from the case. Metal bits that will go everywhere can short out just about everything.

i was planning on stripping the whole thing down painting the inside black and cutting a hole in the top.
