TT Blue orb is fairly good. I have one, but i dont think its quite as good as a few other aftermarket coolers, i dunno how much difference is between it and stuff like the artic freezer and the zalman 7700cu and 9500's...i dont think its enough to merit a replacement though.

The blue orb is very quiet :)

I was looking to spend around $50-60
I wanted to OC to 2.7Ghz, I was hopping a new cooler would bring down temps.

With the Blue Orb, temps at 2.7Ghz were:
Idle: 35C
Load: 53C

At Idle temp is fine with me, however at load 53C seems a little hot,
I'd like to keep it under 50C

And it was just over $60. It relaced my Zalman cnps9500, and offers way better cpu cooling. Plus it cools the northbridge an memory.

CPU coolers are like girlfriends, everyone likes something when they see it but taste varies. anything $50 and up would do a good job for you just pick what fits your case and the type of cooling you like weither quiet, noisy, or in between.

Um, best to go with the 3R Iceage. Its smaller than the Gemini and does better, the Gemini has way too much redundant parts.

@Uncle Vin - What does the priority in Orthos do? Shouldn't running at priority 1 make it push the cpu harder?

I just ordered the Enzotech Ultra-X cpu from performance pc's. It was $64 or something and is rated really highly. Haven't got it yet so cannot tell you first hand my experience with it.

Priority changes the order of precedence for tasks.
For example, say you run two tasks:
Orthos, and WMP.
Imagine that you are running Orthos stress test on Priority 1.
WMP will have a higher priority, and as a result, telling WMP to play a song will interrupt the Orthos process for a short period to start playing the song.

If you set it to a higher priority (eg 10) WMP take alot longer to start playing the song, as it has a lower priority and therefore has to wait for a gap in the stress test for some processing time to start playing the song.

Thats just my interpretation, based on the different priority levels and system response.

I have been using the Thermaltake *BIG TYPHOON* Not the little one.
It stays extremely cool for a Air cooler and overclocks great!

Might as well get the Thermalright Ultra 120. It will still cool better than that boehmoth, plus it wont rip the motherboard out of the standoffs from weighin a metric ton!

Sooo True this Mofo Is like having An anvil tied to the MOBO with tinsel...

Kinda scary you can actually feel the motherboard flex.

But it still cools like a mofo...

Ok Looked at the Gemini!!! Holy %*^! That would not fit in an SLI comp!

the stock intel cooler bows the board...

I shake in fear every time I Bump the Big typhoon because it REALLY moves!
It is so big it almost touches the door of a Thermaltake Armor which is a monstrosity of a case..

BUT!! All in all this cooler has been exeptional if you keep it dust free and do not agitate the massive anchor attached to the board...

"Getting my much lighter weight less intrusive watercooler on the morrow".
