Crazy GPU prices, will we ever see an end to it?

Very true! We can all slow down our upgrade cycle. I'm playing on 1080p, so I can probably go another 2 years. I bet many of us can do that or longer!

Which gpu do you have and what do you play?

As I work in the industry I can definitely say that most "60" level cards (760 - 1060) will play most titles at almost top settings at 1080..

I know plenty of people still rocking 780-780Ti

The only issue would be frame buffer if you happen to try to use VR..

Upgrading every time a new card is released while cool if you can do it, is wildly unnecessary for actual game play.

No need to fear the mods as long as you post within the guidelines

If it is the reverse, and you do not feel you can contain yourself with a reply within said guidelines, I applaud you for stepping back and taking a breath before we were left with no choice but to react to your potential statement.

Where I got them and for how much is something I prefer not to go public with. Let's just say a friend, and for half what I see them going for anywhere else.
I am sorry you live under a rock and have to have something brand new, but I trust where I got the cards, and why pay a premium just for new car smell? Warranty is meh to me anyways!
I never said it did not affect those without the ability to hunt, I am simply stating, affordable solutions are out there, you just have to spend as much time looking as you do complaining
Also, how is it I am exaggerating ( I have the cards, I know what I paid) , and in denial (I know the reality I have a pair of brand new to me cards)!

It was more in reference to what the prices were, but you can still find some cards that are relatively cheap.

The first one is about 60% of the price here.
The second link is the same price as a 1080 was on release here.

For reference, release prices of the cards here:
1050 Ti = $170 - $200
1060 3G = $250 - 300
1060 6G = $320 - 400
1070 = $600
1070 Ti = $700
1080 = $800
1080 Ti = $1000

Those prices have gone up a little since the mining craze, especially the lower range. You can still get the 1080 and 1080 Ti for close to launch price.
