okay fair enough.. but with a nice system like you have you can mine with it all the time and not even notice its doing it.. or you can just turn the miner off to play high definitions games..

that is what i have been doing.. but i just bought spintires mudrunner and have found i can run that and leave the miner mining away.. a pair of 1080TI cards should easily manage both at the same time

just a thought dont mind me..

Looking to your profile is hard to believe that you did not OC and increased the voltage.
The mining card, like my mining Vega 64, yes it is 24/7 100% load but with 20% less voltage than default your are probably using if not OCing.

It damages cuz the market become unbalanced. Selling less VGAs( to gamers and OC) will make newegg sell less mobos, memory and everything else. People will wait with the R9 290...and its mobo, memory etc...

Looking to your profile is hard to believe that you did not OC and increased the voltage.

Sorry to disappoint, but the cards are stock. At one point in their life they were, just to see where they topped out. 99.9% of their life was spent at stock/boost speeds.

Theirs a lot of bull spouted about how cards are mined on tbh ,proper mines might Kane them , i doubt it though , you cannot move beyond the realm or scope of reasonable compute ready overclocks, if you push memory too far it doesn't work, if it works and is kept cool(quite easy at normal fan speeds ) then it won't hurt it at all.
If kept cool there's no issues with age, I've ran cards flat out five plus years and way beyond gaming use that still worked fine a few years later.
And most home miners are not overclocked to gaming extents.
I have a brand mix all running at 55-70% power use (vega 140watts ,polaris 85watts ,gtx1060 65-80 watts as it's load varies most ,not by any means killing them, just saying , because ill still have most of them in five years , probably folding.

I wont overpay reasonable market price, meaning i wont pay $500 for a component that was $150 3 months ago, ill just end up going without. (Im FAR too much of a cheap prick )

Even I have become self aware of my own bitching and whinning on this subject......i agree, enough is enough...im certain that any more of my ,ranting rage posts ,would become even more annoying than the component shortage itself

I see, its a timing thing....yeah thats the issue... I know they can be had at their MSRP, that's not up for question, the problem is they can't be easily or readily purchased without a little bit a luck and some heavy Internet browsing and persistence watching fs pages. Unless of course you're willing to pay the two and three times mark up for ones that are available by unscrupulous sellers, or more accurately the sellers looking to squeeze the buyer like a dishrag ( which I can't afford to have done to me)

Then you don't need a new GPU. Unfortunately the GPU market is at the point where there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Isn't going to stay that way the 550/560 are quite good for the money.

If this one with Zotac doesn't work I might have pallets of chinese models, what is your feeling on unbranded cards that are cheap coolers strapped to reference zotac/pc partner PCB's for the most part?

I can order an entire pallet of Zotac 1080Ti's right about MSRP. Look harder.

If you're willing to buy an entire pallet, and not hunting by models, as most gamers do.

Most of us with full scale lives and responsibilities just a few years from retirement don't have that luxury of ordering a pallet, or even 40% markups on singles, when/ IF you can actually find one you are looking for in stock for 5 minutes.
